Compact, Sturdy Uke Stand

Bought a ukulele from Guitar Center just for fun a few months ago. I like to display my instruments in my office. The uke is a handsome little instrument and I needed way to add it to my display collection. Found this stand at a my local Guitar Center. The stand is compact and sturdy. Works great, looks great.

Too flimsy for real-world use

It's not sturdy enough to form a stable foundation for even a small, lightweight uke or mandolin. And the legs won't stay spread apart--the slightest sideways pressure (from a cable, for instance) folds them inwards, and then the stand collapses. I would not put anything I care about on it. Just a bad design.

It works great on stage. Very sturdy.

  • Not as stable as I had hoped for.

The two front legs of this stage don't spread out far enough for the stand to be very stable. I had hope to find the Proline Fretrest 100A, which is a little larger and more stable, but not being sold anymore.

The weight may be able to hold the weight but it may make the stand a bit unbalanced.
