Pork Pie Brass Patina Snare Drum 7 x 13

Description
The Pork Pie Brass Patina snare drum is a work of percussive art. This handcrafted 7x13" snare features a seamless 1 mm brass shell adorned with hand-rubbed patina for a unique vintage look. Chrome-plated brass tube lugs provide a stylish complement, while 2.3 mm triple-flanged hoops deliver fat tone and stable tuning. With its innovative patina finish and all-brass construction, the Brass Patina snare produces a super-sensitive, full-bodied crack with thunderous low end. For discerning drummers seeking a customized, boutique-quality snare, the Brass Patina snare is a clear standout.
One-of-a-Kind Patina Finish
The hallmark of the Brass Patina snare is its hand-applied patina, which gives each drum a distinctive distressed bronze appearance. Master craftsmen at Pork Pie's Oklahoma workshop manually patinate and buff the 1 mm brass shell to achieve a range of hues from amber to chocolate. No two drums share the same patina, making each Brass Patina snare completely unique. The patina finish protects the brass shell while allowing its acoustic properties to shine through, producing rich, complex overtones with every strike.
All-Brass Construction
From the 1 mm brass shell to the tube lugs, hoops and snare wires, the Brass Patina snare is crafted entirely from brass. This all-brass build gives the drum a resonant, singing quality with pronounced sensitivity and projection. The 1 mm brass shell delivers a wide tonal range from fat, punchy lows to crisp, articulate highs. Triple-flanged 2.3 mm brass hoops provide rigid rim support for tuning stability and enhanced attack.
Premium Hardware
To complement its hand-patinated shell, the Brass Patina snare comes equipped with premium chrome-plated hardware. Elegant tube lugs securely hold tension rods in place while accentuating the drum's vintage esthetic. A standard throw-off and butt plate make it easy to engage or disengage the included snare wires. This high-end hardware, combined with the Brass Patina snare's all-brass build, gives the drum a touch of class worthy of any drum kit.
Sensitive, Versatile Performance
With its innovative patina finish, all-brass build and premium hardware, the Pork Pie Brass Patina snare produces a sensitive yet thunderous tone suitable for any musical application. Its wide dynamic range can handle everything from delicate ghost notes to pounding rimshots. For jazz, rock, funk or metal, this boutique-quality snare delivers the power, projection and musicality that define your sound. Play the Brass Patina snare and unleash your creativity.

A staple in my lineup/kit for 15+ years

I bought one of these from a Guitar Center back in 2009 when they first came out, and it's still my primary snare for gigs and live recordings. My preferred tone has changed significantly over the years (from super high to super fat), and this thing can handle it all with ease. The amount of compliments on the tone from both musicians and sound engineers alike must be in the hundreds (if not thousands) by now, and the tone range is better than snares I own with commas in the price tag. An absolute workhorse and capable of handling anything you can throw at it, this snare will be behind my kit until I can no longer hold onto sticks. Can't recommend it enough!
Sounds huge, tunes easily, beautiful brass sound!

Bought this snare to cut through a very loud punk band - the 13" size allows easy tuning to a high pitch, but the depth of the drum still provides tons of body and volume. playing the edge, even with an Evans HD Dry, brings in nice overtones, and very high sensitivity, moving to the center of the head opens up the volume as you'd expect but gets very throaty, and rimshots are huge as you'd expect - perfect for aggressive backbeats that cut through a wall of distorted guitars.
