Combining outstanding performance, styling and comfort, these headphones deliver affordable, professional results. Designed for maximum comfort and durability, the HDJ-500’s ear pads feature supple, high-quality leather wrapped around soft urethane that mold to your head for a perfect fit, sealing out exterior noise during critical mixing and monitoring. The HDJ-500 headphones also deliver solid build quality with their magnesium alloy construction, ensuring they’ll stand up to regular use.
The HDJ-500 headphones’ stylish design is matched by their professional sound quality. They provide clear audio reproduction, especially in the critical low and midrange frequencies that are key for remixing. Unbeatable low-end reproduction is due to the HDJ-500’s huge, 40mm-diameter drivers with a thick 19um (micrometers) diaphragm, and copper-clad, aluminum wire voice coil. Snare and kick drum sounds are clearer, making beatmatching even easier for DJs in loud club environments.
Built for Different DJ Styles
For maximum flexibility during DJ performances, these headphones feature a rotating arm structure that allows you to rotate the right earpiece forward and back by as much as 60 degrees. At that position, the flexible headband maintains enough side pressure to allow you to listen to audio on just one side of the headphones.
Interchangeable Cords
Whether you’re deep in the mix or just kicking back on the couch, Pioneer has you covered with two different, interchangeable cords. The traditional 1.2m coiled cord extends to 3m, giving you the freedom to move around in the DJ booth. Meanwhile the 1m straight cord is ideal for leisure listening with a portable MP3 player or laptop. The hidden beauty of this flexibility is lower maintenance since you can easily replace a cord.

I'm in bass heaven
I've been producing music for about 8 years and just recently joined the ranks of electronic music producing. My music is very bass heavy, so when I read the other reviews saying that these headphones had some heavy bass, naturally, I was interested. Skeptical at first that these headphones would provide the depth and range of what I really wanted, I popped open the box, sat back, and was amazed. I cannot believe what I am hearing. I am in bass heaven. Not to mention the amazing quality of the mids and highs, I do not think I could have gotten a better pair of headphones for 100$. As a matter of fact, I don't think I could have gotten a better pair of headphones for 300$. P.S. I can't hear you, these headphones could cancel out an earthquake.

My third pair of PIONEER headphones...and now my LAST
(Actually bought 3 pairs of PIONEER headphones all together and ALL were bad...read more of my reviews). So...my first pair (PIONER HDJ-1000) lasted about 2 years. Sound quality was great and they felt pretty comfortable. Then one day I pull them out and find a tiny crack at the swivel hinge. Sure enough, the piece broke off completely and that one piece was left dangling by the wire. I thought it was just me and handling them cracked the housing...so I bought the HDJ-1500. (Review for that one as well) But with that pair, they cracked and broke off during my FIRST gig using them!!! And I was opening for SHOWTEK. Man...those pics and videos are embarrassing seeing my earpiece dangle from my head. :/ That plastic housing is just too flimsy for the price you're paying for them. So watch out for that. I handled my pairs so delicately and even purchased a hard case for them. Nonetheless...they broke on me. So going with a more inexpensive route...i bought the HDJ-500...Big mistake. (Review for that as well) After 3 months of use, one of the monitors is cutting out. Obviously faulty wiring...although it held up pretty nicely as far as quality. Just cant catch a break from PIONEER. But if you DO purchase any of their products (especially headphones)...be sure to get the protection plan. It ended up being well worth it.

I bought my first pair for DJ'ing in 2016 and they worked flawlessly. Had I not left them in a rental car at Charlotte Airport, I would still be using them now. On guitar center's website now, and I will absolutely buy another pair. For under $100 you cannot go wrong. They're great value, durable, and they worked extremely well during gigs when you need to mix, etc...For the money I'd highly recommend.
I would buy this product again.

This is my third set of cans since I began DJing years ago. These have held up well, sound awesome, are comfortable and look good on too. For this price I'll be sticking with these for a while.

I have used Pioneer Hdj's for club/mobile/home rec they all performed well but for proffesional recording I would have to pay more and probably go with Ultrasone or something comparable.
Sound great and comfortable, but junk construction.

These sound great (and loud) for DJ use, however they will break on you! The plastic headband is junk. Mine finally broke in 3 places. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
