Better Than It Has Any Right To Be

I have been gigging professionally since 1969 and My other keyboard amps are one Motion Sound KP-220S (100W RMS /channel), one Motion Sound KP-408S (200W RMS /channel) and a pair of EV SXa360's (500W RMS biamped / channel each). I also use EV SX-80's retrofitted with Eminence Beta 8's and driven by Stewart PA-200's. This amp is obviously none of those, but I was surprised and impressed by what Peavey has done in the clarity, loudness and sonic range of this amp. The KB1 punches way above its weight class and is a nice addition to any pro keyboardist's arsenal, good for when you just need something very portable and decent sounding, and there is no immediate need to break windowsat 50 feet or get heard above a screaming guitarist or pounding drummer.
Perfect for my home studio

This is a good practice amp but don't expect to get much range or power from this amp. Sound input needs to be good or great to get a decent sound out of this little amp. Don't expect to use this amp for any live situations.

can this amp be used to amplify my computer speaker for spotify song blasting? I want to blast music sometimes. Loud jazz
Yes, you can use a Peavey KB 1 20W 1x8 keyboard amp to amplify your computer audio — but there are a few things to keep in mind: Input connection: The KB 1 has 1/4" input jacks (instrument/line-level). Your computer typically outputs audio through a 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone jack or USB. ➔ You’ll need a cable that converts 1/8" stereo (TRS) to two 1/4" mono (TS) plugs, or at least a 1/8" TRS to 1/4" TRS adapter. Sound quality: ➔ A keyboard amp like the KB 1 is designed for relatively "flat" amplification (better than a guitar amp, for instance), but it’s still not a full-range, high-fidelity speaker like studio monitors or a PA speaker. ➔ It will sound decent for casual use (music playback, YouTube, gaming, etc.), but it won't sound pristine like good studio monitors. Volume levels: ➔ Make sure to start with the amp volume low and bring your computer output up slowly. Computer headphone outputs can be "hot" (loud) for an amp input. Quick setup: Get a 1/8" (3.5mm) TRS to 1/4" TS Y-cable (like this: [3.5mm stereo to dual 1/4" mono cable]). Plug the 1/8" into your computer’s headphone out. Plug one or both 1/4" connectors into the KB 1 channels. Set levels carefully.submitted2 years ago

Can this amp be used with an electronic drum set? Would I simply use speaker cable to connect the two?
It would work. Don't use speaker cables, they're only for speakers. A standard 1/4" to 1/4" guitar cable will worksubmitted5 years ago
