When rocking with his band Sevendust, Morgan Rose needs his drum to be loud, powerful, and full of attitude, so his mean 5" x 14" steel drum has all the projection to cut through huge speaker stacks and subwoofers.

- 5" x 14"
- Steel snare drum
- Stainless steel tension rods
- Green metallic finish with glow-in-the-dark "Alien" graphic

Just bought this snare today and out-of-the-box it is outstanding. Honestly, I was not expecting the sound that came from this snare when I first hit it. It required no "alterations" in accordance with my preferences. I used this snare later today at my band's practice and it cut through like a knife through butter. Simply put, this snare will fall perfectly in place in any rock to metal senario. It has a tone that is undenialbly heard from anyone. After I put an E-Ring on it, the quality was raised even further. The snare also, is very punchy and tight. I of course love the coloration, it gives the snare personality, that is quite obvious. If you want a low priced, high quality snare that cuts through any mix, then this snare is for you.

The snare drum is the one voice on the kit that is truly unique to the player. Everyone's tastes and views on what doesn't and does sound good varies as much as personal opinion on politics and religion. That said, I am writing this review for the simple fact that straight out of the box (without my snare preference customization) this snare TO ME sounds AMAZING and I am very excited it about it. It CRACKS, plays like butter and while I typically prefer a hazy dipomat and a narrower snare bed underneath, this thing sings with IMHO unparelled clarity. Yes, the snare throw is generic but Canopus utilizes this exact same mechanism on their metal drums. Speaking of which, if you want a good sound/play comparison, the Canopus 5x14 "Steel" would be a good place to start. Green is my favorite color and Aliens don't bother me (actually give the drum character). The price is absolutely right and it saddens me to not see this drum not used by more pros. It is literally one of only two snares (of the 19 I own) that didn't need mods right out of the box to, once again, meet my personal preferences. In short, no, I cannot tell you that this drum is for you or buy it now or whatever. What I can tell you is that is has an enormous tuning range and that it IS, in fact for me. If you prefer bright, versatile snares, this sig model has to be yours. Not a Pearl fan and while it shares the same specs as the Chad Smith (snares and strainer aside), I just don't hear the similarities. 14x5 and steel is the right combo on this drum.

Normally, I ALWAYS test gear out before I bought it. I love Morgan Rose, so I bought the snare without hearing it first. When I was waiting for it in the mail, I was so scared it was going to sound bad. When it got here, I wasn't so sure....but then it blew my mind!!!! The head was WAYYY out of tune when it came, but after tuning it to my specifications it sounded awesome. I play a bunch of live shows and it is a killer live snare. I haven't been to the studio since I bought it, but I cant wait to try it out!! Worth every penny.

This snare is pretty amazing. I tested quite a few out before deciding on this one and a year and a half later I'm still extremely happy with my purchase. This snare really cuts through and has an incredible tone. You can get a great resonating sound playing near the rim and a solid crack when you play in the center. It's a lot more versatile than you would think and extremely durable. I recommend this snare to anyone.

This snare is your absolute perfect snare drum for all-around contenmporary modern rock music. All ranges of tuning fit all the ranged percussion in this modern genre that you could think of, its loud roaring tone perfect for live shows and recording frequencies; it's loud enough to cut out all feedback you might have any trouble with. Its crack I will never be able to say enough of, it is absolutely perfect to catch the attention of anyone listening, and to cut through all surrounding musical sounds without overpowering and dominating. Its sound is so beautifully attacking, it fits any modern heavy rock music you will be playing. The perfect snare for any all-around modern rock, pick this up if you are within budget and looking for a snare to fit any of your needs. So incredibly worth the money. Greatest deal ever
Best snare out there

This snare friggin rocks! I've upgraded from a 12x5 Chris Adler sig snare, and let me tall you it was the best decision i made on my drumset. It sounds awesome by its self, but put on an Even genera head, with some moongel dampeners makes it godly.the sound is ridiculous, A parfect crack, and with a moongel, the perfect amount of overtone. Overall, the best snare out there, the only better sounding snare imo is the Tama warlord titan, which is $1800.00 I 100% recommend it.
