Description

Superior sound, accurate triggering and connectivity are the most important features of a drum module. Pearl Drums and Steven Slate have joined forces to create “ Mimic Pro” the world’s most advanced percussion sound source for studio and live performance applications.

At the heart of this ground-breaking unit is the new Steven Slate 5 drum library that features multi-channel drum samples recorded in world class studios. Each instrument supports adjustment of Attack, Sustain, Release, Tune, Pan and Volume. Instead of substituting digital effects to create ambience, these instruments use the actual ambient recordings with separate adjustment of close, overhead and room mics.

Mimic Pro is the first drum module to implement a 7 in. IPS touch screen and the first to offer two mixers for independent headphone and front house outputs. Now that the drummer is responsible for triggering loops and other sounds for a performance, Mimic Pro can import audio files to trigger from your pads. Storage is no longer a problem with Mimic’s 120G Solid State Drive and lightning fast loading time.

Speaking of connectivity, Mimic Pro is compatible with Pearl TruTrac pads and a host of pads from other manufacturers. Top that off with 16 audio outs, 16 trigger inputs, independent SD card slot, USB and midi in and out, stereo aux input and you would be hard pressed to find a better option for today’s musician.

once you dial in the drums the way you want them you cant stop playing this thing. I don't miss the money at all. I gotta get back to playing it right now. now that I got this for my main kit sound any souds I add to the kit with other units sound great too. to me the best drum sounds are professionally recorded acoustic drums. better than live acoustic drums. better than sounds that were produced without acoustic drums.

I could tell by the youtube videos that this module was a step up but you don't understand how much of a step up it is until you actually play it.. It is worth the money. The sound quality and dynamics are so incredible. So incredible in fact that I'm not bothered by the fact that I can't assign drum sounds to the rim shots. I'll just get the roland bt 1 bar and use the extra 5 slots I got. It sounds so good It would even be worth it to get another one if I wanted to add more drums. The cymbals sound so good you can do realistic washes on them. You can go from really quiet to really loud. its amazing. It pro studio quality drums with great dynamic range in a box.

  • Simply the best drum module I have ever used

I have had the Roland Td-10, Td-20, Td-20x and the td-30. No need to get the td-50 as this unit is exceptional and the fact that it is Steven Slate drums is just too good sounding imho. Real drum and cymbal sounds. Unlimited editing and the future upgrades are something to look forward to. No more having to buy a new flagship Roland module every couple of years.
