Great addition to snare and toms

I'm old school (40+ year player) and remember a time when internal mufflers were an OEM standard on most drums. After all the obligatory fussing about with my latest Ludwig Classics - i.e. head changes, tape, tone rings, etc., I bit the bullet and installed these on my toms and snare. They are just as versatile and work as well as I remembered. While they don't completely replace the other fixes, they certainly go a long way. Installation is simple and involves drilling one small hole. Give em a try.

Don't buy for a wood snare

As others have said, the screw provided isn't large enough to mount the muffler to the snare shell (unless you have a thin metal shell). Went through my screws and couldn't find anything that fit, so I guess I've just drilled 2 holes in my snare for no reason.

The pearl muffler was a great replacement for my TAMA snare muffler which was damaged. Quick delivery put my snare back in play in short order.

I installed one on Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz Snare & one on 14 x 14 floor tom. Easy and they make a World of difference. Adjusting the "ring" out is now easy as turning the knob... No more gels, tape or felt pads on top. Chrome plated METAL knob, NOT plastic, and felt pads are larger and nicer than i expected. I am very happy. Thank You GC!
