I actually used this on a 1960's Kent snare to upgrade the hardware. Paired it with a Gibralter strainer and it sounds awesome!

  • Was able to make it work in a pinch.

Supplied as is, the mounts would have scraped up and damaged the shell of my Pearl Sensitone. However, using some LocTite and 10-32 nuts as spacers I was able to get solid distance between the throwoff and the shell.

  • I would buy this again

This Item is great. The only drawback was that I got The New Styled Butt on the other end. I was Able to jury rig an old Butt End To Work. Nothing else was wrong. Another Good Job From Guitar Center On Line, Have had a couple of Bad Experiences in the local Store, But Your Online Products (new and used) are tops

  • Not for older Pearl export series (1990's)

bought this for an early 1990's Pearl export snare...as there are no specs on this product anywhere to be found, I took a chance and the holes do not align up right,,in order to use this, i would have had to drill 2 new holes in the shell ( for the strainer on/off part)...This is probably for the later 2000 years pearl export series

  • NOT FOR THIN METAL SHELLS

this is great if you are replacing the throw on a wood snare. too much work needed to get this to fit properly on a thin metal shell.

If it's a pearl snare it will fit, but any other brands it will depend on which model it is.
