Just got these today for my birthday. The bass drum sounds amazing. It really doesn't need any type of muffling, the kick really hits. The snare drum sounds awesome with good tuning. The rack tom is pretty good if you tune it well. The floor toms are what sets this kit apart from others. They are outstanding, they have a warm sound and great resonace. I would recommend this to anyone, for the price you can't beat it. And hey, did I mention it's Chad Smith?!?! Just one more reason to go out and get this!!!

its a really good drumset, but it has to be tuned to perfection. i bought this drumset, and i played with it, and it didnt sound too good. so i decided to tune it to perfection, and it sounded amazing. its quite expensive for a beginner but its worth the money. i would suggest getting some aa sabian's or pitch black zildjian series cymbals.
