Better than the Taylors and Martins played in store that day

I went to guitar center with 1k cash to buy a guitar as a tribute to my recently passed grandmother who always loved hearing me play. I went in planning on playing everything until something spoke to me. I played some guilds and X series martins and also This PRS. I ended up walking back to look at the amps again but the way that PRS felt and sounded was sticking with me. After a couple hours or trying nearly everything in the store I asked if I could have the employee unlock some of the American Taylors and martins from the top shelf. Im a huge Taylor fan but while I waited I played the PRS cause it wasn't locked. I put the PRS down and when I played the 2000$ Taylor it didn't feel or sound as good as the PRS. By the end of my multiple hour stay at guitar center, that PRS haunted me in the exact way I went in there hoping for, and it's the best acoustic i've ever played, even though its from china. The blue wasn't my favorite at first but by the time I bought it, it had already grown on me to the point that I wouldn't have it any other way. Seriously, don't buy online, go in to a store that has the on display and play it. If it speaks to you, buy the one that you played. Don't have the get a new in box one cause it may not have that magic.

Beautiful Guitar just the setup sucked

Its a beautiful guitar but how dare Musicians friend send me this guitar with the action so high. It was .170 at the 17th fret on both E strings. I now have it at .065 on the high e string and .070 on the low E string at the 17th fret. Believe you me PRS got a call from me !!! So much for checking their Asian made guitars at the PRS factory in Stevensville Md.for quality ??? Anyway now the guitar is perfect after i set up the action correctly and changed over to some Ernie Ball Xtra Light strings. So YES i would buy this guitar again and YES i would recommend to a friend but i would also tell them to have some xtra bucks for setup !!

I LOVE PRS especially their Electrics.. The acoustic however, not so much.. It has a beautiful look but sounds like mud plugged in and the action is so high you'd have to shave the bridge for days.. Save your money get the Martin or Gibson. I agree with the other guy.

This is a cheap guitar. It looks great but sounds terrible. I played every single one at GC Pasadena. The sound is very muddy. I own many quality guitars and I was completely disappointed in this guitar after reading all the hype. I find it very hard to believe there were those that reviewed this instrument and proclaimed it better than a Taylor or a Martin. That was certainly not my experience. I even asked another pro musician buddy o mine to test out this guitar. He said he would. He calls me an hour later laughing saying you have to be joking. I said I just wanted another ear to confirm what I already knew. This thing is all bling and very little quality in the build. It feels like a toy and plays like one too. Just speaking the gospel truth.

  • I wanted a Martin. Left with the PRS

I always wanted a Martin acoustic. Put back some money went into guitar center and I played all of the Martin's that were under $2500. I just did not like the sound. They just were not warm enough for me and one of them even had, a buzz that was coming from the body. I saw the Paul Reed Smith and picked it up and it is a very nice warm fun guitar to play. I couldn't recommend it enough.

Went into Guitar Center with an Alvarez on my mind. Saw this on at the very top, but didn't really pay it any mind at first. Played a few other guitars to really try and find myself a good match, and, just when I was sure about getting the Alvarez, I saw a used 2017 Angelous A20 hanging on the wall… I hated to admit that it sounded better, felt better built, played better, and pulled on me more than the Alvarez. It also looked beautiful, and I preferred the PRS neck shape, which surprised me. In Colorado, however, used guitars have to stay in the store's possession for 30 days, I think. So I couldn't take it home with me. That's when I thought, "why not check out that first guitar that captivated me as soon as I walked in before?" It was this 2022 Angelous A50…It takes center stage while playing because the way each string commands the room while providing impeccable sustain to every note. Anyways, I feel as though this guitar chose me. It answered what I was hoping to find in a guitar. It feels like a trophy, in a way. It's special. I think it's worth your consideration. Pick one up and try it for yourself.

To start, I am very picky... I like guitars that are pretty, setup well, play easily, have exceptional build quality, and have great tone. Walking through the acoustic room in my local guitar center, I literally stopped in my tracks when I saw this guitar. After playing a few guitars that I liked the looks of, I settled on this one. It is absolutely gorgeous, setup great from factory, has great build quality, and has darn great sound/tone. In short, I love it and play it everyday.

I was looking for a replacement for my trusted Takamine LTD. I had looked at Taylor, Martin, Breedlove, and Gibson. I was visiting Guitar Center to get strings and as usual stopped into the Acoustic room to check out the choices. After playing several guitars in the $2000 range, there was this beautiful blue PRS! I pulled it down from the wall and OMG, it was amazing! the clarity of the sound was better than any of the other guitars in the room. After playing a couple of tunes unplugged, I hooked into a Fender acoustic amp in the room and found the plugged-in sound to amazing as well. It is now my daily gigging workhorse! I play on average 220 gigs a year and the PRS has been by my side with no problems since August of '21. I use D'Addairo XS 12-53 coated strings and she sings like a bird !
