I've had my A50E for about 6 months now, and I simply enjoy playing this guitar. It's got the 44 mm wide neck which is more comfortable for me to play. It looks good and sounds good. Out of my collection of acoustic guitars, it's my favorite to play.

After reading the reviews and looking at the specs this guitar seemed like it might be a diamond in the rough. For this reason I searched out which GC's near me had this guitar in stock. As it happened it was the Pasadena store. I played every one of the PRS A50 E guitars. I thought the neck profile was similar to a Taylor but that is where any hint at an affordable quality guitar evaporated. Don't get me wrong the guitar is pretty, and comfortable to play, but it feels cheap. The Tuning pegs are meh and the strings seemed to grab and bind too often for my liking. Still I wanted to give this guitar every opportunity to shine... but it just doesn't. Chords sound muddy especially in the low end. The guitar does project well, but that isn't saying much when the notes are unbalanced and the tone murky. The guitar fared a little better in fingerstyle play, and I thought perhaps upgrading the tuners, and going with Tusq pins was a viable solution but I will never know because I don't see this guitar justifying added investment. The guitar gets an 'A' for good looks, and a great body style. The bracing seems to be some sort of experiment PRS is working on. This is a practice guitar, not a working or touring guitar. You get what you pay for. In this case it is like the beautiful girl that catches your eye, but has the tonal personality of a cow bell. Frankly I would recommend every Takamine, and Yamaha in the same price range. Suffice it to say this guitar is extremely over rated and I won't be buying one no matter how much bling PRS uses to sell this mediocre instrument. I can't review the electronics because the natural acoustic tone was so lackluster. I didn't bother to plug it in.
I'd give this guitar 6 stars if it would let me

If your looking for a guitar under the 1000$ range that sounds and looks like a 5000$ guitar; this here is for you, I played several martins, Taylor's, fenders, even a Gibson j-45 and this thing took the cake. The only problem with this guitar is you won't be able to put it down

I've been playing for 60 years, have owned about three dozen guitars, bought this PRS Angelus 50 at Guitar Center yesterday, gave it a 3 hour workout today at home, I'm in love. Great sound. Great set up out of the box. A real looker, flame red. Totally versatile, fingerstyle, flat picking, any kind of music, rock, jazz, country, classical. Under a grand, I would recommend this to anyone. She rings and sings.
gorgeous sound, gorgeous look

I spent about an hour and a half in the showroom trying every other guitar remotely in the price range. This is an incredibly well-balanced instrument across the tonal range, with excellent intonation up and down the entire fretboard - no dead spots, in perfect tune anywhere you play. I love the warmth of the maple tonewoods. I own a Martin D-18 which I love, but this is more fun to play and probably better suited to certain styles of music.

In the description, the country of origin says the United States, but if you zoom in on the back of the headstock in the picture, I says China. Where was the guitar manufactured?
I apologize for the confusion. Made in China
