Ovation Celebrity Standard Plus Mid Depth Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar Nutmeg Burled Maple

The Celebrity Standard CS24P guitar has the classic mid-depth Lyrachord cutaway body with quartersawn scalloped œX bracing. Ovation reviewed some of their earlier bracing patterns extensively to arrive at this remarkable new design, which borrows from the past and is voiced for the present with natural tone and optimal response and power. Together, body and top create the classic Ovation sound, resonating with full projection, remarkable note clarity and balance, and nuanced tonal complexity.
The CS24P has an elegant abalone rosette, ivory white binding and beautiful nutmeg gloss finish. Other premium features include an effortlessly playable neck with a natural satin finish and rosewood-veneer headstock, 20-fret bound rosewood fretboard with abalone microdot inlays, and a rosewood bridge. For great live sound, the CS24P features an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with 3-band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard tuner and low-battery light.

Wow. Just wow.
This is my all-around acoustic-electric guitar. Compare this to a $1,000 guitar, this is still better by a long-shot. Sounds great acoustically and plugged in, a low end with great attack if plugged in and EQ adjusted, and sharp high ends both acoustic and plugged in. All around great. I put a pack of Martin Retro's, even better sounding

Mistake
Just received this...Nice looking finish but the plastic backing was alarming. After tuning the sound was hollow and tinney...had to re-tune several times within 30 minutes of playing. I need to return and get something different. Will call and I hope guitar center will allow for the return.

It's hard to describe it, but this guitar called to me. I already have 2 acoustic-electric guitars that play well and sound good, but the moment I saw that Nutmeg curled maple top, I was obsessed with getting this guitar, and I'm glad I did. Put a pair of Phosphor bronze strings on it, and it plays and sounds exactly how I want it. This is the guitar I take to small venue jams to show off with No you can't play it, this one is mine! go get your own!

I play this guitar strictly for my own enjoyment. Koa top is beautiful! Guitar has great tone, especially when amplified, and eq is adjusted. Action is superb, definitely a great purchase and a superb value for the money.
I would buy again.

The picture does not do this guitar justice, I ordered the Koa it is beautiful. Sounds great, the complaints I have is the neck adjustment tool shipped with it does not fit the nut. The instructions call for adjustment at the head, but the only way to access it is at the bottom of the neck. I wanted to get better action on the upper frets, guess I need to find the right size allen key to fit. Over all well made, and fun to play.
Beautiful guitar.

Nice guitar, it stands out. Some people love Ovation guitars, others hate them, I think, simply because they use uncoventional construction materials that might lead them to perceive these guitars as overpriced. The mid depth rounded back produces a crispy nice sound. The koa veneer top is beautiful.

Brought this home yesterday after picking it up at GC. I played this unplugged for 2 hours straight and could not stop smiling. Great tone in all ranges and the neck/fret action made for smooth and effortless play. The only downer was that the supplied 9V battery was D.O.A. so I could not plug in. We'll get to that today. GC- you need to get a better picture of this guitar. The one you show online does not come close to doing the koa finish justice. It is beautiful! I'm feeling a little "sick" and might have to leave work early (wink).
