Ovation
Description
The Celebrity Elite Plus series builds on the classic multi-soundhole instrument design of the Celebrity Elite guitars, upgrading them with select figured tops, beautiful abalone appointments and first-rate sound, style and features.

The Celebrity Elite Plus CE44P-8TQ guitar has the classic mid-depth Lyrachord cutaway body with a stunning quilt maple top featuring the Elite multi-soundhole design, which provides clear highs and focused, balanced bass response. For the top' quartersawn scalloped "X" bracing, Ovation reviewed their earlier bracing patterns extensively and arrived at a remarkable new design that borrows from the past and is voiced for the present, with natural tone and optimal response and power. Together, body, top and soundholes create the classic Ovation Elite sound, resonating with full projection, remarkable note clarity and balance, and nuanced tonal complexity.

The top also has elegant multi-wood epaulets, black binding, abalone purfling and a beautiful Trans Blue gloss finish. Other premium features include an effortlessly playable satin-finish neck with black binding, 10"-radius rosewood fretboard with 20 fully accessible frets (24 frets for high E string) and abalone inlays, and a rosewood bridge. For great live sound, the CE44P-8TQ features an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with three band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard tuner and low-battery light.

Awesome sound and quality!

Purchased sight unseen and based solely on looks and Ovation reputation, this beautifully crafted instrument produces the mellowest of tones. Quality control was handled well despite what often comes out of China. No random glue, nicely edged frets, and outstanding action were impressive. Great strings too. Try it! You'd swear it cost more than you paid!

Disappointed!

I had high hopes for this guitar, I've always been a fan of Ovation and never had issues with them (other than low end Applause models) This guitar is just not that great, Wanting one that would be pristine I ordered this so it was not a model that sat on the showroom floor being manhandled by anyone and everyone. The fit and finish is great and appears to be well made (in indonesia. the action was terrible and clearly was never setup, iindicatng to no final QC at the factory. I'd guess slapped together and thrown in box. OK no biggie I have a well known luthier that can set this up I have him add gotoh locking tuners and complete setup. Inintially I'm pretty pleased with the guitar but in a short time its seems out of whack again. Not holding tune, action seems to have gone awry. I have it setup again and the truss rod is tightened some shims added and its ok. After a couple of months of use its apparent this guitar is really not that good and doesnt really have a great sound quality as an acoustic. The small tone holes at the top of the guitar seem to restrict its ability to project a nice full sound, Plugged in you can of course get any sound you want. As a knock around guitar this is good but I could have gotten that for half the price. I dont recommend this guitar and I would add I'm no longer a fan of Ovation and can see why the maker was in the situation that it was, clerly the only good Ovations you will get are made in the US and will cost $$$ but in that price range I'll go Martin or Taylor thank you

I bought the blue quilted maple Celebrity for a kick-around guitar. I've played a 1978 1651 Ovation Legend for 45 years so my expectations were high. This instrument did not disappoint. Great value and a real showboat in the looks department.

  • Great value!

Great acoustic electric guitar at this price point. Sounds great acoustically or plugged in. Easy to play. Neck plays like an electric.

  • In my opinion, nothing beats an Ovation Guitar!!!

I mainly use the Ovation guitars at home, at weddings, at baptisms, small groups, practicing, showing off; Lol. I've found either you love the look, sound, feel and easy play-ability of the Ovation guitars (Higher End) or you do not. It really is that simple. But the famous professional musicians who use the Ovation guitars to record with and play on large venue stages with do it for a reason. You cannot get any other guitar to sound like an Ovation guitar no matter how well your mixer-board or amped up equalizers work.

  • no, you just need one.
