Ovation
Description
The Celebrity Elite Series is your first step into the world of Ovation' classic multi-soundhole instrument design, with first-rate sound, style, features and value.

The Celebrity Elite CE44-1 guitar has the classic mid-depth Lyrachord cutaway body with a solid spruce top featuring the Elite multi-soundhole design, which provides clear highs and focused, balanced bass response. For the top' quartersawn scalloped œX bracing, Ovation viewed earlier bracing patterns extensively and arrived at a remarkable new design that borrows from the past and is voiced for the present, with natural tone and optimal response and power. Together, body, top and soundholes create the classic Ovation Elitesound, resonating with full projection, remarkable note clarity and balance, and nuanced tonal complexity.

The top also has elegant multi-wood epaulets, black binding and a beautiful two-color sunburst gloss finish. Other premium features include an effortlessly playable satin-finish neck, 10-radius rosewood fretboard with 20 fully accessible frets (24 frets for high E string) and pearloid inlays, and a rosewood bridge. For great live sound, the CE44-1 features an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with three-band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard tuner and low-battery light.

To start with, it's a beautiful guitar, but it also sounds so sweet! This isn't my first Ovation, and most likely won't be my last.

the guitar is fine for what it does. Plays well and sounds great amplified. Sound is not fabulous when played acoustically but it's not expected to sound like a solid wood guitar. Sounds like you would expect a mid-depth Ovation to sound. It's light weight looks really beautiful in black finish. No flaws in finish. Neck was bowed when it arrived but easily fixed with truss rod adjustment. Action is a little high but I can remedy that when I change the strings and remove shims from under bridge sadlle. It's not bad and I might just leave it as it is. We'll see. I do like the pickup system for recording direct into recording interface. Neck is small and comfortable to play.

  • Love it Ovation

Great guitar for the price has that great ovation sound. Action was a little high when I got it lowered with the truss bar. Action is great now, sounds and plays great on every note on the neck. I know this isn't Ovations top of the line guitar, but for the money, it's an Ovation and sounds and plays great. Love it

  • I would buy ovation products again

Had an Ovation in the 70's and should have never sold it. Saw this price and had to give it a try. Now I remember why I liked that guitar so much. Play this baby unplugged and you are going to have a weird look on your face. Plug it in and you will have a smile! Playing through a Fender Acoustasonic and this thing is blowing me away with the crisp - clean sound. I like the thin neck and shallow body design. A good break from the big box guitars. Not trying to make this something it is not, but at this stage in my life I would rather have several good guitars to play around with than a small mortgage for a great guitar. This is a good guitar.

I am interested in an Ovation Celebrity Elite spaulded maple top guitar. Are the multi-wood epaulettes on this flush with the body? I have an Ovation knock-off (an "Applause") with the same multi-wood epaulettes that raise up above the body a millimeter or so. From the photos I've seen, it looks like the Ovation has the same thing. Can you help out with this?

What type of amp hook-up is required for this guitar? What other pieces of equipment would be necessary for best sound output?

    Open Reply -
This would require a standard 1/4" guitar connection. So any standard guitar cable would work fine.
