Ovation

Description

The Celebrity Standard CS28-NEB guitar has the classic Super Shallow Lyrachord cutaway body with a solid spruce top featuring quartersawn scalloped “X” bracing. They reviewed earlier Ovation bracing patterns extensively to arrive at this remarkable new design, which borrows from the past and is voiced for the present with natural tone and optimal response and power. Together, body and top create the classic Ovation sound, resonating with full projection, remarkable note clarity and balance, and nuanced tonal complexity.

The spruce top also has an elegant inlaid Pearloid rosette, ivory white binding and beautiful Sunburst finish. Other premium features include an effortlessly playable neck with a natural satin finish, gloss black headstock veneer, 20-fret bound rosewood fretboard with Pearloid microdot inlays, and a rosewood bridge. For great live sound, the CS28-NEB features an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with three-band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard and low battery light. Case sold separately.

A Very Pleasant Surpise..!!

Was looking for a quality, affordable nice playing acoustic-electric to add to my collection. I own some amazing high $ dollar guitars as well as some awesome cheap (remarkable hidden gems) guitars. A friend of mine and I took a trip to Guitar Center in Lawndale this afternoon and we both played several different acoustic-electric guitars. I was looking for something to leave in my music room/studio (you know that perfect just pick up and play any time, any where guitars). I wanted something quality but didn't what to break the bank. Hands down (we both agreed) this Ovation fit the bill and exceeded my (our) every expectations and I was able to check off every thing on my "want list." Once I decided on it, I was prepared to play as many guitars as needed to find that rare pearl, but the first guitar, right out of the box was set up perfectly, yes no set up was needed (rare) sweet! It sounds and plays as good as she looks (beautifully finished).. un-plugged or plugged in. (Love the silky smooth-fast neck, super fun to play.) It's also one of the music comfortable guitars I've played and playing it for extended periods of time would be a breeze. Nice Balance and feel...! A quality build and design with great sound and feel and super affordable with no real sacrifice.. Totally stoked with my purchase and I know this will be a guitar I will grab over and over. Bravo Ovation! I know a lot of serious heavy hitting guitar slings that play Ovation guitars and I totally understand why now!!

Terrible Guitar

Terrible guitar. I have close to 50 guitars, about a dozen of them acoustic. It's worth maybe half the purchase price. It is a beautiful guitar... too bad it just sucks in all other aspects. Makes me not want to buy an Ovation online without playing it first.

I've owned a similar guitar before, so I knew what to expect with this one. This is beautiful and well made. I'm very happy to own this guitar.

I received this today as an early Christmas present from my wife. I've wanted an Ovation for many years and my expectations have been well worth the wait. Love everything about this instrument. Great feel, light and comfortable to play. (I played for hours after getting it home.) All I had to do was tune up and she was ready to go! The ruby red finish is beautiful and the neck plays fast and smooth. If you're interested in a really good, well made and affordable guitar, I highly recommend this instrument.

  • I would buy another.

I am by no means a great guitarist, but as I'm improving, I wanted an upgrade from my Mitchell starter. My dad has an ovation and mentioned how easy it is to play. Low action, great sound...I have stepped up my practicing since getting this just because I WANT to play it. I love the color and it sounds amazing. Aside from some buzzing on the E string (which could be my own issue for all I know), I have had no issues and am loving every minute of owning this beauty. Tried an Ibanez a/e but ultimately went with the Ovation, and glad I did. I think it's perfect for someone like me who is just starting to develop some decent playing skills. Guitar came strung and ready to play (after tuning of course)

I'm looking at this as a gift for my husband who is left handed? Does he need one that's made specifically for lefties? Thanks, Jean

    Open Reply -
If he has never played, I would recommend that they learn to play right handed. Otherwise, you would need to purchase a left handed guitar.
