Ovation
Description
Ovation's award-winning multi-soundhole technology is now incorporated into the Applause AE148. Its full, balanced sound is pumped out through the calibrated spruce top and fine-tuned bracing. The Lyrachord body allows for the back of the guitar to be free of reinforcements that can inhibit sound projection. A slim contoured neck allows for fast and effortless playing that suits any style from finger picking to power chords.

Ovation's Slimline pickup captures true acoustic tone and delivers a powerful signal with plenty of headroom to combat feedback in high-volume conditions. The OP-4B active preamp has a gain knob; a battery LED; plus independent bass, mid, and treble EQ sliders.

Applause AE148

I received this guitar for christmas and i am very impressed so far. it is very easy easy to play and the shallow cutaway body is very acomodating to any posture you like to play with. The only downfall to the guitar that i see is the electronics ( they dont come out of the body like ovation guitars with the little eject button but they are set into the guitar body which led to the subracted star). The single cutaway body gives you full acess to the higher frets on the neck. the guitar sounds amazing for its relativly low price and i would definatly reccomend buying this APPLAUSE AE148 for those of you who may be confused:applause to ovation is like epiphone to gibson. also the natural color is not the one shown on the website it is NATURAL wood color not a ruby red with black faded edges.

Guitar doesn't do you much good, unless its in your hands.

I wouldn't know how this guitar is, because I ordered it almost three months ago for two day delivery and have been getting back order notifications since. I ordered it July 27, then I was told several weeks later that is would not be sent until September 15, then October 15. Now they tell me it wont ship till the end of November. Had I know that I was paying just to look at a picture of it for the next three months I probably would have ordered it some place else. Very dissatisfied.

Purchased the Ruby Red Burst and am very happy with it. GC Priced matched as well which makes it extra nice. This guitar has a nice sound with or without an amp. But its nice to have the choice. My friend has the Ovation Celebrity in this same style, and neither one of us can see any difference between the Applause or Celebrity. Nice Guitar, Great buy!

I purchased this guitar as my first electric. My other guitar is a Fender Dreadnought. This has a great tone with or without an Amp. I ordered it, picked it up, and haven't put it down much. It keeps tune real good. Just a little tweak every other day. One thing I like about an electric is that its more forgiving. i.e. on you playing the chord exactly correct. Great guitar, great price.

My cousin, who is an accomplished guitarist, told me he had played this guitar and that I would love it. He was right. I took it out of the box, tuned it up, and it played beautifully. What an amazing sound. The finish is exquisite and the neck is perfect for my short, thick fingers. I've played in all kinds of bands and heard all kinds of acoustic guitars. I would put this guitar up against any of them. I haven't plugged it in to an amp yet, but I'll bet it sounds just as amazing amplified as it does as an acoustic.

I actually bought mine used from Guitar Center. Even as a second hand guitar it plays amazingly. The sound projects so well and you can tell that this is a solidly built instrument. If this is the "value" guitar for Ovation, I can only imagine how well the higher end models play. I am now an Ovation fan for life.
