Ovation

Description

Ovation's 1771VL Glen Campbell Signature Legend Acoustic-Electric Guitar model features the shallow "Vintage Style Lyrachord" body used on early Ovations from the '60s and '70s. The shallow body is designed to provide plenty of cut to overcome other instruments in the mix. You get a little less bass, a strong mid-range, and bright high-end which helps every note stand out in an arrangement. Ovation's "shallow bowl" design combines durable Lyrachord composite construction with a meticulously engineered round-back design to deliver a richly rewarding acoustic experience ideal for stage and studio alike. The 1771VL features a cutaway, and its shallow bowl is extremely durable and maintains the outstanding string-to-string balance of original Ovation designs. This diminutive depth provides extraordinary playing comfort ideally suited to smaller players and those who prefer a slim-profile instrument.

Designed to reduce hum and line noise, the FET preamp delivers stunning stereo output, and waist-mounted individual volume and tone controls are quick and easy to adjust while performing. A contemporary version of the electronics that launched the Adams acoustic/electric line in 1979, the FET preamp is an Ovation classic.

Includes gig bag.

I started playing on a Hagstrum guitar in the 60s and over the years have owned more then a couple of handfuls of guitars. I recently purchased a Custom Legend, 3 weeks later I was in my local Guitar Center playing around with a $1,500.00 Taylor and an $800.00 Martin then I picked this guitar off the wall and playing it felt more like an extension of me than an instrument in my hands. I knew I had to have this guitar. I know not everybody will like the round synthetic body but the neck, action and sound the 3A spruce top puts out is second to none. Although the Custom Legend due to its electronics has a slight edge when plugged into my Fishman Artist amp the G.C. Signature Legend holds its own and has become my go to guitar. I could have had the Taylor or the Martin but perferred the playability and sound of this guitar over the other two highly regarded name brand guitars. No regrets would make the same choice again. Last note, Ovation ships their guitars with shims under the bridge make sure you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS how to remove and adjust the action, they even explain why they do it.
