I bought this snare in Pensacola Florida and it was a very good price at best Maybe my #3 snare . But that drum is so clean in the studio it is unreal have not yet played it out in public throw mechanisms different but works very well oh I silly thing is the plastic washers that just break apart and fall off. Sounds just as good as my Birdseye maple Tama or my pork pie platina deep snare for a lot less$ by far the best cheap wood snare drum that you could buy with great sound.

Man, This snare won my heart at first sight. I love the sound of it. Just take some pro active actions immediately and replace the snare wires right off. The head it comes with is fine. Don't buy into any negative comments that the hardware is cheap. It isn't. Light buy strong.

  • Great tone, beautiful fit and finish, quality control?

I fell in love with this drum from the first hit. It's tone said take me home! I wish I had inspected it a little closer while at the store. The top hoop has a slight divot on the rim but is still round where it matters, my problem is with the throw. I noticed the mechanism was loose where it made contact to the shell and upon trying to tighten the screws discovered they had been crossthreaded. I was able to fashion a repair myself and got my new toy back in working order. Lesson learned. Otherwise a great drum!

I wasnt in the market for a new snare. I have to many as it is. I found this guy brand new for a price to good to turn down. I got a sound control batter, tuned it, and then was amazed with the sound. The rolls, ghost notes and the rebound it gives for blasting is amazing. It has become my go to and favorite wood snare I have. I have other nice and expensive maple snares. I'm not sure if it's the ash that makes this one special, but the sound is amazing.

Awesome craftsmanship and materials, but I wouldn't expect a beautiful tone and resonance from Ash wood.

  • A good buy

I bought this for an accent snare to which that is the best use for this as it lacks the crack and projection to cut through as a main snare. Overall the f you catch this on a Stupid Deal of the day, it's worth the hundred bills.
