Fun Lil' amp

I have to say I am VERY surprised at this amp. I bought it with the intention of using it to record once and then give it to my daughter as a practice amp....WRONG! This is Daddy's new recording amp! Very solid (and simple) bass tones for blues and rock...can't jack the volume past 8 or it starts to get a bit farty...but it's plenty loud on 5 and is perfect for recording. Super simple tone stack too... Gotta hand it to Vox on this one. 5 stars for simplicity.

Good deal for a Vox 10 watt amp !!!

Vox is a well known name and makes quality amplifiers. For the price, makes a fine and affordable practice amplifier and better than bringing the big 100 watt amp out.So go ahead and get this for the price and convienence.

Adequate for practicing quietly at home which is perfect for me with little kids. Won't get the super low end boom but clear sound. About what you'd expect for the price.

Picked up used at a pawn shop. Always had this at an open mic I used to host. Ran any bassist through the direct out to the PA. No matter the bass, make, model, acoustic, electric. A few tweaks of the controls and we had a good tone coming through the mains/monitors. Also did some bass scratch tracks, for a friend brought it along on a whim. Sounded great through a cheap interface, ended up using the tracks for his final mix, with some added tweaks in his PC, of course. For the money I'd replace it if it got stolen... Great tool to have in the arsenal.

I purchased this amp as an study one to have at home and move around with it. Didn't really expect much out of it. It GREATLY surprised me. Good power, sound quality and warmth. Probably the best portable/study amp for the money.

I use this to practice with daily, as well as a travel amp. It's a straight forward, no nonsense amp that packs plenty of punch for small venues.

Would this be ok for a more quiet electric drum kit amp? I'm also looking at the Alexis strike 8, but it's currently sold out.

    Open Reply - Thomas
You could if you're not playing too loud. You'll need to tweak to get the highs
