Excellant product

I have been using the original version of tune-bot for a couple years and I love it. This new studio version is even better. Only takes me a few minutes to tune my drums to the exact notes I like before each gig. A real time saver and consistant each time.

Does not work consistently, especially on reso heads

I'm a new drummer. Have looked at a lot of drum tuning videos online. I have done it the Rob "Beatdown" Brown way, and the Kenny Sharretts way. Was interested in trying some of Kenny's interval tuning between top and bottom heads and since I do not have a good ear I figured it would be quicker to do the intervals with the Tune Bot since it is supposed to be able to measure the frequencies accurately. The Tune-Bot worked well on the batter heads, but sometimes would jump to different number even when hitting in the same place. On the resonant side the Tune Bot was not accurate at all. It would show frequencies all of the place. I tried the Tune-Bot formulas and while the batter head would be ok the resonant head would never be right. I spent two days trying to using this tool, reading the manual, the guides, watching videos, reading forums. Maybe I got a bad one. It's back to doing it manually.

    The tuner itself works fantastically, but what makes it even better is the app and the website support. You can design your entire set tuning layout with custom options for things like desired resonance level. Being able to chose what over all pitch you want and it provide the batter and resonant pitches needed is outstanding!

    Ok let's get the party started. Long story short this thing works. Not sure if the quality of my drums have a factor on anything but my Tom's are 14,16,18 and kick 26". heads are a year old and tuned right up with help from the Tune bot calculator. In all this things amazing

    Does this work with the kick (bass) drum? Also, how about a timpani, conga, etc.?

    Bass drum yes, but I'm not able to find anything confirming with drums without a rim.
