I was very disappointed in this product. It did not work as it was promoted to. It was boxed and had some packing but the protective film was already removed. I returned it and bought a keyboard instead.

Really cheezy sounding...sounds like a toy. Many cool features but the sounds are terrible. I am a keyboard player by trade. Since I hurt my back it is hard to haul around a keyboard. I was looking for something to take to open mic/ singer songwriter nights...I was thinking of an autoharp, but I didn't like the chord limitations. When I saw this with all the chords and other features, I thought it was the perfect solution...NOT! The sound are really sounds cheap like a kid's toy. too bad because there are some really cool features on it.

I really like this instrument. I find myself doing things with the strum plate that are intuitive, similar to when I play a wind instrument. It took two or three hours to read the manual and learn most everything but midi and accessing additional voices. In the process, I have developed an understanding of chord relationships that I never really got playing the guitar. Haven't amplified the sound or played with all the instrument combinations but I don't see why this instrument couldn't be a pretty good addition in many different settings.

I got my first Q-chord as a gift from my father in 1997. I had to have the strum plate replaced after 2 years but was able to get it done by the manufacturer for on $25 plus shipping and they but in a heavier duty plate to allow for the extra pressure my clients with Autism, applied when playing. Everyone in the family loved and so did my clients. As a Music Therapist, it was very easy to use and enjoyed. I especially liked the Christmas and Children's Cartridges and have purchased the pop songs and extra rhythms, with my recent purchase of a new Q-chord.
