Bought the Sterling Musicman Stingray for my son's birthday. Action was pretty good right out of the box. Intonation was all over the place and the neck needed some adjustment, but was easily fixed with the supplied tools. The packaging was a horror show, box was torn open and shredded, but thankfully the bass was ok. No fault of Guitar Center, this is squarely on UPS. all in all, a great purchase! #sweepstakes

I was absolutely blown away by how good this bass is. The components are high quality, and it is very well built. Set up was easy & only required a couple minor tweaks. So, I installed some flatwounds and it was good to go. And it sounds every bit as good as my MIA Fender P Bass.

  • Just perfect!

New bass player here, was looking for something good quality and budget friendly to learn on and this checks all the boxes. The blue is beautiful and really catches the eye. Sounds great and the 5 way switch gives you many sound options.

When I strung the E string on any fret and released it from the fret. The string began to vibrate annoyingly. How can I fix this?

If my bass is active pick-up & requires battery, why ,then does it still play without battery

    Open Reply - Thomas
The pup is passive. The EQ is active. Some active instruments work without a battery

Is it better that this bass guitar is active and needs a battery pack in the back? Or would it be better to get a passive one?

    Open Reply - Thomas
That's strictly a personal choice. They will sound different. I, personally, prefer passive.
