Better than it has any right to be.

I've had this bass for 4 months now. I don't like to review things while I'm in the honeymoon phase, I don't notice my toy's short comings untill I have lived with them awhile. I usually play this plugged into a scarlet interface for jamming and recording on my computer. The electronics are versatile. I have a main voice I like and use most of the time, and 2 settings I use for effect. This thing loves to be slapped, it has an awesome percussive sound. It makes my thumb sound much stronger than my other basses. The string spacing is really good too. It gives me enough room for accuracy with my thumb without slowing me down when I use my fingers or even a pick. The 5th string has good tension too. My previous 5 string had a flubby 5th that was disappointing. It was a little buzzy and rattily when I first got it, but I was able to clear that up with my playing technique. The bridge is a good design but it and the tuning keys are made of the standard cheaper alloy you expect to see on import instruments. It works though no defects or issues. The frets are a little smaller than I would prefer, and the material is again standard for imported instruments. They are seated and dressed really well though. No poping or rough ends. The nut is cheap plastic, but the slots are cut way better than I usually see at this tier. It's an awesome workhorse Stingray, that won't put me in too much of a depression spiral if it were to get broken or stolen.

Battery drain when unplugged I get 48 hrs max

The customer service for repairs are useless if you get a bad one. Don't get attached because if you have an issue, they won't fix it, you'll be offered a credit. The electronics in mine failed and my options were limited to a credit. That's the worst warranty ever.

This is a terrific bass. Was able to grab if on sale at 349.99. My first venture with a Sterling /music man product. Absolutely love the electronics and all the sound options in the the 5 way switch. Controls are treble or bass increase or decrease which is fine because the mids in the electronics are excellent. Neck is straight. Put new strings on it ( I love S.I.T's foundation steels) and it sounds fantastic. Also, adjusted string height. Play's great , sounds great. why did I spend 5-6 times on other basses? They are nice basses, but unnecessary to spend that much When something like this is available. 5⭐️

Great bass! This came highly recommended by a professional bass player. I purchased this for my teenage son but my adult musician friends all love it too!

After 10 years with my Squier Jaguar (and 7 years from my starter Ibanez) i upgraded on equipment and jumped from 4 to 5 strings. NO Regrets here. I saw it at a GC at Phoenix,Az 5 years ago. Tried it again at SD,Ca last year and ordered it on xmas sale. Smooth play, clear sound, looks great. Hope to rock this one for at least 10 years too.
