Open Box Simmons MC16 Ekit 16in Metal Cymbal Level 1

I have been playing these for a couple weeks now. I have adapted them to my Roland kit and the feel, response and dynamics are so much closer to a real cymbal feel, it is amazing. The sensitivity stands out as well

I have been using electronic drums for many years, I am very familiar with Simmons since the first drums were available. When I first saw the Simmons MC 13" 16" and 18" cymbals i was very intrigued by the design, and look. After using them I found they felt great also. The 3 zone, and choke features gave me new options to try. I use my drums to not only trigger sounds ,but also loops and have used them to trigger video. The added zones were a real benefit for me in one spot at a minimal cost. Very highly recommend these cymbals as an addition to any Electronic set.

I've been playing Vdrums since the Roland TD-10 came out with their V-cymbals in 2001, and I still love the Vdrums (now having the TD-50). I finally got to try out the MC13, MC16 and the MC18 and i'm definitely very impressed, especially since they are so reasonably priced compared to the Roland V-cymbals. They were nicely packaged and each one came with their own cymbal stand adapter which seem to work better than the ones that come with the Roland V-cymbals. They worked seamlessly out of the box with every Roland Vdrum module I have, only doing minor adjustments in trigger sensitivity to make them sound natural. The cymbals themselves (especially the Ride cymbal) "feel" almost more solid (like an actual cymbal) than the V-cymbals cymbals do, which is important to me because I still play acoustical drums whenever i can. The feedback on the drum sticks respond a little more like a real cymbal while the Roland V-cymbals are a little more spongier (all the while still maintaining virtually the same muted notes as my original V-cymbals so my neighbors aren't hating me anymore than usual). The trigger response on the cymbals respond just like every other V-cymbal I have and didn't notice any latency issues which is key to a good electronic kit. And ultimately, the really nice thing about them is that they just "look" better than every other black rubber V-cymbals I have. Just seeing real metal in a natural looking gold tone does affect my "primal" love for hitting them. The only small issue I had, which is completely understandable, is with the Ride. Even though it works well as a 3 trigger zoned analog ride, it doesn't have the nuance of the Digital Roland CY-18 that Roland has with its TD-50. But it plays just as well as any of their 3 trigger analog V-cymbals. But because Roland's digital ride on their TD-50 library is so annoyingly limited in its Ride Cymbal selection, I am right now playing with the Simmons ride on the Roland TD-30 because it has such a better range of sounds. Again, these are an easy sell, they're priced well and they feel good...i'm glad they came out.

I use this cymbal with the 13" and 18" as well on a Roland TD17KVX setup utilizing a Pearl Mimic brain. I'm definitely a pro user, and I must say these play and feel like a dream! Stick feel is on point, plug and play with Pearl Mimic. Seamless integration, real size feels great!
