Using it as an upgrade from the stock titan 50 kick pad, it's an absolutely amazing upgrade. It feels premium and responsive. Comes with 2 kick pad protectors but I recommend you buy better ones

  • Great upgrade over the stock Titan kick pads.

Much improved design over the Titan 70s stock kick pad, that wobbled and caused terrible foot fatigue. Double pedal rig does not attach well at all to this without some makeshift spacers, but does get there, and excellent overall upgrade.

Excellent upgrade to any e-drum kit. Easy to connect with the standard TS plug. It's a must if you use double bass pedal

While the look of this kick is a plus… even more important is the tight trigger and feel. Really glad I upgraded. It's been a solid addition to the studio.

I have a Roland VAD 506 and have never liked the Roland KD 200's soft, mushy kick trigger. This is best "real drum" kick trigger for the price. Completely accurate triggering for fast death metal double bass and great feel for a mesh head.

How is the stability when playing with a double pedal?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
The Simmons KP180 18" Kick Pad is designed to accommodate both single and double bass drum pedals. However, when using a double pedal, certain adjustments are recommended to ensure optimal performance and stability. Use of a Riser: To properly align the beaters of a double pedal, it's advisable to use a riser. This elevates the kick pad, allowing the beaters to strike the center of the pad more effectively. Adjusting the Hitting Surface: The KP180 allows for vertical adjustment of the hitting surface. This feature helps in centering the beaters, especially when a riser is used. Spur Adjustments: The pad includes adjustable spurs that can accommodate most risers, aiding in maintaining stability during play. While the KP180 is built with a solid wood shell and features a tensionable double-layer mesh surface, its stability during aggressive double pedal use can be influenced by several factors: Surface Type: Playing on a carpeted surface can help prevent the pad from sliding. Pedal Attachment: Ensuring that the pedal is securely attached to the pad can enhance stability. Use of Additional Weights: Some users opt to place weights on the pad's base or use sandbags to further prevent movement during intense play.

Whats the diameter of the trigger pad behind the head? Is the trigger a single piezo?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
I’m sorry, I don’t know. It's probably a double. "The pad is designed for consistent performance from single or double kick pedals"

Will this pad work with a Roland TD27 module?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
It may. It will very possibly be inconsistent. It’s not a good idea to mix brands of e-drums.
