Powerful Class-D amplification
Modern subwoofers require a lot of power to create clean, tight bass at high volumes. That’s why the DA12S drum amp subwoofer packs a Class-D amplifier with 1,000 watts peak output. Its high headroom and low distortion provide outstanding clarity and impact. This sub is designed to perfectly complement any of the Simmons full-range drum amplifiers, as well as amplifiers or powered speakers from other quality manufacturers. When you want to round out your electronic drum amplification with high-impact bass, the S12 compact powered subwoofer has you covered.
Easy-to-use, sound-optimizing DSP
The DA12S drum amp subwoofer includes sophisticated DSP that guarantees ideal sound, with easy-to-use controls. Rear panel directions help you set Crossover Frequency to match the size of your full-range amplifier or other speakers, or select frequency in hertz, and then maximize bass impact via the Phase switch and Time-Align Delay knob. These crucial tools ensure ideal low frequency response for any setup.
More bounce to the ounce
Big bass for pro sound systems can sometimes mean heavy and bulky units that are challenging to move. The compact DA12S is only about 50 pounds, yet delivers lows down to 35Hz and a full 130dB max SPL. You can use one with Simmons DA2108, DA2110 and DA2112 drum amplifiers, or a Smart Stereo pair of any of those amplifiers. Universal connections and controls allow the DA12S to work with any other amps or powered speakers from other brands.
Stereo signal management
With dual XLR combo connections, the DA12S accepts both balanced and unbalanced XLR inputs, as well as 1/4" jacks. Dual XLR stereo throughputs let you connect the subwoofer with a set of powered speakers or amplifiers if you choose. Selectable crossover frequency, phase switch, and time-align delay put you in control of your sound to perfectly match the sub with those other speakers or amplifiers. There's even a volume control that lets you dial in the ideal amount of bass without affecting signal to the outputs.

Bass is OK but won't add deep bass or any kind of club bass if that's what your looking for then buy a more Dedicated 12inch sub because this sub doesn't go down very low with its frequency. After half volume it doesn't increase much, just a tap which is sad. More like 400 watts

I use the DA12S sub with the DA2110 top speaker in conjugation with my SD1200 e-kit. It's great for my setup. Practice space is in the basement and it works great at small to medium sized gigs. The sound is crystal and easily eq'd. Bluetooth works great. No issues with this setup!!

Let me state at the beginning, that I have two DA2110s, paired with the DA12S subwoofer. With this setup, there is more than enough power and bottom-end to support playing an E-kit for a gig, although many of your may run the E-drums through the house sound system at a lot of venues. The sound is clear, strong, and represents the sonic spectrum of the drums, and with the DA12S, you'll get PLENTY of bass drum in the mix. The controls are convenient, simple, and setup is easy. The manual is straightforward, and remember, signal input is through a 1/4" jack, and XLR is used to best connect the three speakers. I have used the 3 speaker system as a P.A. for house parties, backyard gigs, and smaller venues without a house sound system, playing acoustic drums, and running the vocals and an acoustic guitar into a small mixing board, which is then connected to the speaker system in the same fashion you would run your output from an E-drum control module to the speaker system. It worked great. Of course, for rehearsal or practice using an E-kit, these will be excellent. These are solidly built, and easy to transport. I would recommend getting speaker stands for the two 2110s, if you're using them for performance or as a P.A., as I noted above.
