collapse expand iconDescription

The KSM8 Dualdyne cardioid, dynamic vocal microphone excels at vocal reproduction with crystal-clear acoustics, to give you an excellent live performance. Shure has built a reputation on creating reliable, excellent-sounding products that are a fantastic value. With the revolutionary reverse airflow technology, the KSM8 does an excellent job at producing clear acoustics that is ideally shaped for vocals due to the control of proximity effect and presence peaks. It has a uniform, cardioid polar pattern that helps to isolate the main source and reduce background noise, making it versatile enough to be used in a live or studio setting.

Tailored Acoustics for Versatility

This dynamic mic delivers really natural sounding vocals due to the control of the proximity effect, which produces a very neutral mid and high frequency response. The KSM8 does a great job at handling plosive sounds and making sure your voice cuts through the mix well. It has a patented dual diaphragm inverted airflow cartridge that does an excellent job of rejecting off-axis sound and delivering a signal clarity that rivals a condenser mic but with optimal feedback control. It has a clear tonal range and does well in catching sonic details for a balanced acoustic performance.

Rugged Durability for Versatile Portability

The rugged construction ensures this mic is made to endure the rigors of gig work and is built to have a long life. It has a carbon steel grille that is lined with a hydrophobic woven fabric that helps to reduce breath and wind noise, while also giving waterproof protection. The KSM8 delivers a full, balanced sound perfect for any instrument, and versatile enough for studio or live application, making it a well-rounded, accessible mic that is made to last. The pneumatic shock mount system helps to give you the best control over any mechanical, handling noise.

I snagged to this use live and it's awesome. Much more convenient than setting up sm7b and sounds close enough for me. #sweepstakes

I was skeptical at first but I got blown away by it…Shure KSM8 is Awesome!!! I was hitting all the high notes with ease. very similar to that Sennheiser MD 445 that's why I have both of them. Powerful Microphone!!!

I generally hate my voice. Perhaps the mics I was using hard something to do with that. The Sure KSM8 sounds so good it's boosted my confidence. Warm, clear, even tone. I play semi-loud pop-rock in the Petty/Jayhawks realm with lots of harmonies. I ordered a second KSM8 for small house concerts.

  • Yes, I would buy this product again.

So far, I love this mic. It seems to outshine the other three microphones I own, two of them being Shure mics. I don't give it a five star rating yet, simply because it hasn't been tested out at a live gig. I'm looking at doing that in just a couple of weeks, and anticipate highly favorable results because of it. My musical compadres are coveting this microphone and we're all looking forward to hearing it's true capabilities!

This is the perfect mic for my voice! I love it! I sing mostly at big concerts and dances, lot of noise on stage, and it's so good. (My husband is also a singer, and his voice has a lot of bass, so he's not as much in love as I am.) Maybe it's better for female voices and high male voices. So if you are a male with a low voice, you're gonna want to try it out first. But for you other singers: This is one of the best!

  • This is a Shure bet

This mic is worth every penny! This was a game changer for my live singing. The dynamics are outstanding and with such little effort needed to get you to an awesome vocal performance, it's easily the best investment to take you to the next level.

I would want to hold the mic while using it. I saw in the description it mentioned the shock mount but I just wanted to confirm if this mic could handle being used exclusively while being held without any issues
