Floyd Rose 1500 Bridge Provides Pitch Control and Tuning Stability

The Synyster Gates Custom-S comes equipped with a genuine Floyd Rose 1500 double-locking tremolo bridge for ultimate pitch control and rock-solid tuning stability. This incredible bridge lets you dive and pull up to the extreme while never having to worry about tuning accuracy.

High-Output Pickups Deliver Pummeling Tone

You'll get a searing tone from the high-output Schecter Synyster Gates signature humbucker pickup and Sustainiac humbucker in the neck position. The signature humbucker features ceramic-8 magnets for higher output while retaining harmonic cut. Blend that with the Sustainiac pickup and you are in total control of a crushing sound with infinitely singing notes.

Fast Neck and Fretboard Provide Easy Playability

The Synyster Gates Custom-S has a fast 3-piece mahogany neck and ebony fretboard with 24 frets, letting you grab huge bends and wide vibrato with ease. Its 14" radius and 25.5" scale length are built for down-tuned, high-gain riffing.

Ergonomic Contours and Glow-in-the-Dark Markers

Extreme body contours ensure this guitar is as balanced and comfortable as it is aggressive. Glow-in-the-dark side-dot position markers light your way on even the darkest stages. Upgraded for precision and comfort, the Synyster Gates Custom-S is tailored for unleashing sonic mayhem.

Let me foray that I have been making strides to acquire numerous guitars within the past couple of years. I have recently acquired the relic'd Custom-S which had an issue with the tremolo springs making extreme contact with the inner tremolo cavity causing creaking spring noises whenever the tremolo is used. I have gotten a replacement that was flawless, so I took it as just a one-off lemon. I acquired a satin gold burst Custom-S within two weeks and it was flawless from the start, confirming my suspicions of a lemon. Fast forward around a month and Guitar Center starts carrying the Custom-S in silver pinstripe (one I wanted to finish the trio on my wall) so I made the jump. I went to Kennesaw Guitar Center first purchased this guitar, brand-new and sealed in box and returned home. On setup, I found the nut to move forward and back when using the tremolo - it was not secured properly to the neck nor was it flush with the end of the fretboard either. This caused a concerning cracking/creaking noise whenever the tremolo was used - up or down. I checked the nut mounting screws and found the bass side was stripped into the wood, just spinning with virtually no tension at all, wouldn't come out of the neck. Returned it the following day to Marietta location for an exchange and upon testing their stock, it had the same problem. I trekked to Atlanta store (had a Schecter C-1 FR S SLS Evil Twin I was considering brand new in box) and that unit had a chunk taken out of the front near the tone knob. BRAND NEW UNIT in-box. I made another adventure further up to Alpharetta AND Gwinnett Guitar Center, both having the guitars brand-new in box with the SAME ISSUE AGAIN. Alpharetta had a C-1 FR S SLS Evil Twin that I ended up taking home because it was flawless and would do the job. I wanted the Synyster Gates Custom-S to fulfill my trio, but was unable to even after spending an entire Sunday driving across the city to numerous locations to find all of the in-stock units had the same defect. Ultimately I "settled" for something I didn't quite want because I was discouraged from ordering a brand new guitar in-box seeing as how 3/4 of the units I went to check were brand-new and unopened before. I warn you to put the tremolo through the tests. Don't wait to use it at all. Use it hard and see if yours ends up having the same issue. You can typically see a gap between the nut and the end of the fretboard after using it for a bit. Sometimes it is only on one side (bass or treble) of the guitar, but half were on both.

Great guitar in workmanship and quality. Personally not big on the body shape after purchase because I usually sit when I play, and the top horn, along with the placement of the strap holder on the back side if that horn, pushes up in my chest. Not real comfy.

  • This guitar is flawless, it feels amazing and looks perfect

It feels perfect, the finish is so smooth and the pickups are perfect, the bridge pickup doesn't make any sounds and the neck sustainiac is awsome and fun to play
