The SKB ATA Bass Case is the first Injection molded bass case. It accommodates "Precision" and "Jazz" style bass guitars and is the latest size in SKB's 3i series of waterproof cases.

3i Series injection molded waterproof cases are constructed of ultra high-strength polypropylene copolymer resin and feature a gasketed, waterproof and airtight, submersible design that is resistant to corrosion and impact damage. Its continuous molded-in hinge, patented "trigger release" latch system with TSA recognized and accepted locks, four reinforced locking loops for customer supplied locks,comfortable, snap-down rubber over-molded cushion grip handles, secure stacking, and automatic ambient pressure equalization valve all contribute to its military grade design.

The plush interior provides total neck support and protection on all sides.

    Fits a four string P Bass obviously, and Jazz 5 fits as well. My DI set up is pretty simple, and it fits beautifully. A real good case if you plan to fly and you're worried you'll be forced to check a gig bag.

    Great case. I will eventually buy one for all seven of my basses I feel 100% safe traveling with it and easy to carry with the wheels

    I have had an Open Cavity iSeries Bass Case for 4.5 years. I have flown with it about half a dozen times, but the main way I use it is in the back of the equipment truck. In that regard, it has been on nearly a thousand gigs. It has a few scratches, and I replaced the wheels at around the three year mark (replaced with solid wheels instead of 2 piece), but beyond that-it is going strong. For reference, I play a Sadowsky 5-24. I liked this case enough that when I bought a second bass to take on the road, I ordered one of these, except in the P/J configuration since the new bass (Fender Precision 5) did not fit in the open cavity case. If it doesn't fit in the P/J case, I'll be returning it.

    When ordering , it showed a red interior, it arrived with a grey interior, I guess that why mail order sucks!

    No. The body of the case is more for a P-bass shape. The AC40 his a slightly different shape than the case.
