When I first played this Cajon, i was surprised that it had so deep bass, and good separation between snare and bass. I play in our youth church band, and the Cajon we used before had so flat sound of both part of Cajon, and the sound was a little annoying. But, this one is totally different. Sound is deep and rich, and it not rattle while you play. All the time i played it, i enjoyed it

  • The sound is what I wanted, whatever the price.

The low tone has chest punch and incredible impact. Both the snare and the slap are beautiful. Most of the cajons I played sounded thin and I got tired of hearing them after a song or two. This has so much good wood in the sound. I'm 6'4" and 250, and this is well made and has enough seat area (11"x12") to be able to sit far enough back and not fall off! I absolutely love this instrument. It is the type of tool that is both beautiful and functional. Everyone hears things differently, but for me, this is what a cajon should sound like and accomplish inside of a minimalist percussion kit.

This cajon is great. I personally love the bass and snare separation, and when you buy a Schlagwerk cajon you know you are going to get great build quality and sound. No real problems. Only wish is that if there was a way to remove snare easily and install again.
