18" AAX El Salbor Picante

16" AAX El Salbor Picante

Description
Commented Sabian product specialist Kevin Laskey: "Though it was designed for Latin players, the Picante Hand Crash is a cymbal for percussionists playing any style of music. And while it is named 'Hand Crash', the center half and bell of the Picante Crash are for playing with a stick."
Karl Perazzo, who evaluated Picante prototypes with Santana for over a year says, "The Picante Hand Crash is the hottest cymbal I've ever heard. It's great that Sabian continues to design sounds for every type of player. This Picante Hand Crash is a good example of just how creative they are."
Inspired by such legendary percussionists as Perazzo and Richie 'Gajate' Garcia, the Picante Hand Crash is the latest El Sabor model from this award-winning cymbal maker. With its appearance and sound shaped by high-density AAX hammering and half 'n' half surface lathing, the Picante Hand Crash is individually hand crafted by Sabian artisans using SABIAN B20 'caste' bronze, the world's most durable and musical cymbal metal.
All Sabian AAX cymbals are available in Natural and Brilliant finishes and are quality-protected by Sabian's one-year warranty.

Remarkable Hand Cymbal

Great cymbal for use with cajon - really turns the cajon into a mini drum kit (especially when used with a Heck Stick and bass pedal). Cymbal has been designed for use with the hand, and responds wonderfully with the slightest glance to the edge. You also achieve good ride and bell sounds - experiment with different attacks (single finger like a drum stick, multiple fingers in a claw style, fingernails etc). Super explosive, loads of sustain. Very high quality sound. Highly recommended.
¡Muy sabroso!

This thing is great! I use it for acoustic gigs with my Meinl Turbo Slaptop and its like the perfect complement to it! Thin enough to smack with your hand but rugged enough to handle a little punishment. Works well with brushes too. Because it is thinner than my other cymbals though I think its a good idea to keep it in its own little bag because of the sheer weight of the others on it. If I can my hands on a single-cymbal bag or a two-cymbal I'd feel much safer about transport. Make sure to take care of it well and it will take care of you too!

Perfect Hand Crash for Acoustic Groups

I use this cymbal exclusively with hand percussion (mostly cajon). I play a lot of acoustic rock, alternative, and indie music. For these genres, I have found no better cymbal for use with hand. It's very responsive. You can build a crescendo with your finger tips that sounds great when miced up or you can give it a good smack and get a fantastic, dynamic crash. I even use it with wire brushes sometimes, but prefer my Zildjian Latin crash for that. I HIGHLY recommended this cymbal for an acoustic set up. You must try it out in person if you have not.

I love this cymbal.....It adds so much to my percussion rig....finally a cymbal with good tone when hit with the hand....very versatile as well good tone from the bell when struck with a stick....I have recently also added he Meinl foot cabassa and a kick drum so when backing acoustic acts I have can lay down more versatile patterns.
Coolest sounding cymbal I have ever heard.
