I recently purchased a Roland TD-27 kit to replace an old TD-10 kit. The TD-27 came with only 3 tom pads, and I have always used 4. This pad fit the bill and at a nice price I couldn't pass up.

  • I would buy this 2 more times

I recently purchased a Roland td11k electronic drum set. I used to play accoustic over 40 yrs. ago. I am really enjoying my electronic set. I wanted to upgrade a few things and one was the snare. The pdx8 (snare) is a good drum. I read where some folks were using the pdx100 as a snare (because it is larger) and it worked well for them. They did mention the "hot spot" in the middle of the drum but were able to deal with it. I decided to purchase the drum to see if it would be a problem for me. It has not been a problem! I did go into pad settings and make some adjustments. I am not a heavy hitter (as in heavy metal) so I am sure that may make a difference. I really like the pdx100 as a snare. It looks good and sounds good and is reasonably priced. I moved the pdx8 to the third tom position. I am considering replacing the pd8a's and pdx8 with pdx100s.

  • Fits great with my existing set...

I have an Alesis electronic drum kit w/mesh heads. It came with 3 toms and I missed having the 4th tom. Bought the Roland 10" mesh head and it plugged right into extra input. Sounds great. Plays great.

  • Nice upgrade with a tiny problem.

I was looking for a snare upgrade for a TD-11K which came with the PDX-8. I first tried a PD-105 which is a bit expensive but a nice snare. BUT it just didn't fit with the kit. I bought this one and it just works with the kit. The bad side - there is a tiny hot spot in the center that increases volume. I then tried the PD-105 and it HAS THE SAME HOT SPOT. So it's essentially the same pad with different housing. I'm not sure what else would be a better upgrade. I would actually love for Roland to make a larger PDX-8 for a snare. It has a superior trigger but is a bit small for a snare. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the pad.
