    I bought my PK-5 second hand back in 1994. While I do not gig all the time, this gear has never ceased to work for any reason. It is built like a tank and has really great features. Having battery power is really helpful when doing a quick setup for a gig. As far as I can tell Roland has not changed this product since I bought it. I could think of some suggestions, but still this is reliable and essential to my live performances.

    I've been playing and recording guitar, bass and keys for some 30 years, aways through multi-tracking. Which means I can't reproduce it live. I recently had really good seats at a Rush concert and got to see how they handle the synthesizer parts, and I realized I could play keys and guitar at the same time. The unit is great - it's well built and actually feels good to play. I'm sure it'll last forever. It's taken some practice to get the hang of playing two instruments at once, but the results are well worth it !
