Road Runner

collapse expand iconDescription

Road Runner's RR5TAG-ESP Highway premium acoustic guitar gig bag provides class-leading protection and storage for the most common acoustic guitar shapes and sizes. Whether it’s a cross-town gig or a cross-country tour, the Highway Series’ rugged durability and thoughtful design protects against the inevitable mishaps while on the road.

Its fashion-forward design includes a textured, quilted “espresso” top and back, all in a sleek trapezoidal shape, creating a dramatic, eye-catching statement even before you start playing.

A heavy-duty outer lining resists scratches, tears and scuffs during transport and storage. Inside, you’ll find deluxe, 20 mm foam throughout that completely surrounds and protects your guitar. Thick foam adds even more padding, while structured, internal corrugated boards front and back provide top-drawer impact protection, similar to hard cases. A secure neck rest ensures further instrument stability, and internal abrasion-resistant patches prevent guitar hardware from damaging the lining.

The RR5TAG-ESP Highway premium acoustic guitar gig bag features a unique double-lid design delivers ample storage space for laptops, books and accessories without excessive bulk. Plus, an ergonomic, padded handle and stowaway backpack straps make travel easier even when carrying amps and other gear at the same time.

This case has very thick and durable material all over the outside and nice soft material on the inside. It should last a long time. The zippers work great. I really like the extra storage compartment on the front for a songbook, notepad, pencil/pen, tuner, peg winder, instrument cable, (lots of space). It actually works great with my Ibanez PNB14E short scale bass. Highly recommend this case.

  • Cool case but looks a little weird.

Great case that is very protective for a soft case. I love the "espresso" color. I like that it has two "compartments". The case is large but offeres great protection.

  • Great for Electrics, Inconsistent for Acoustics

This case has been amazing for taking my electric around, the only thing I'm not a fan of is the weight but that's unavoidable with this much protection. However, the case is advertised as an acoustic case, but it comes nowhere close to fitting my standard acoustic guitar in it. Some size recommendations would be nice in the description.

This case has a zipper compartment on the top for storage and the bottom is for the guitar itself. Very well padded, and light weight. The employees helped me select it based on my needs. I can take my guitar out in all sorts of weather too.

  • Lovely, affordable, and thoughtful case!

This bag is well made, well balanced, and looks great. It is so nice to have an alternative to the usual black gig bag. This was a holiday gift for my wife, who is 5'2" and she was impressed with how light and maneuverable it is, even loaded up with gear. The backpack straps are comfortable, the pockets are well planned, and it's easy to find your guitar among others. : ) I would definitely recommend this case!

Will an Ibanez 5 string acoustic bass fit in this? The bass body is about 5" thick and 16.5" wide, but I'm not sure about the length with the neck.

It will fit. You can't possibly bring it on a plane. Air travel requires a "flight case". Please see "Fender CEO Guitar Flight Case with Wheels Aluminum Gray"
