Recording King ROS-9-FE5-TS Dirty 30s 9 000 Acoustic-Electric Guitar Regular Tobacco Sunburst

Recording King

Description

Recording King's Dirty 30s Series 9 models, like this ROS-9-FES-TS acoustic-electric guitar, take the vibrant tone of a solid Sitka spruce top and combine it with Recording King's super-clean Cross Lap Bracing for the best-sounding Dirty 30s models yet. Available in the body shapes players have come to expect and love from the Dirty 30s series—Dreadnought, in this case, 000, and Single 0/Parlor—all feature 25.4" scale lengths and comfortable 1-11/16" nut widths.

The ROS-9-FES-TS is specced for great sound, of course, with a bone nut and saddle and D'Addario strings, and its look captures the evolution of the Dirty 30s vibe with a transparent Tobacco Sunburst finish and ivory large dot fret markers, as well as the RK Whitley pickguard.

Case sold separately.

Rather boxy sound with some unusual resonances. Fretboard is scratchy - I could hear a scraping sound when doing string bends. Neck had a dent in it, and then painted over. Tuners were very stiff and left much to be desired. I understand this is a budget model (replicating an older style of guitar), but it comes up short in the tone and finish department. It's a light guitar and also comes with a bone nut and saddle which is a plus. I think this would be a fine first guitar or a campfire beater. I purchased it to be my couch guitar; however, going to pony up and purchase a nicer axe.

  • As good as I hoped

I use it for both strumming and finger picking. I leave on a stand so I can grab it and play when ever I have a chance. It looks good, feels good and plays good all the way up the neck.

I'm new to guitars, especially acoustic-electrics. Can this guitar be hooked up directly to an amp from straight out of the box? If so, where does the cable hook up?

This guitar can be connected to an amp. There is an input on the lower bout of the body.
