The Series 11 Dreadnought

Description
Recording King's Series 11 offers players all-solid tonewoods in a great-looking vintage-style package. The Series 11's extra-lightweight dreadnought gives players a high-quality, affordable guitar with no compromise in tone or vibe.
The foundation of the Series 11 sound comes from a solid spruce top paired with solid mahogany back and sides. These traditional all-solid tonewoods deliver the fundamentals of acoustic tone at first strum, for a classic sound that will only continue to deepen over years of playing.
For authentic vintage styling, the Series 11 dreadnought is finished in Tobacco Sunburst with an ultra-thin satin finish. Classy low-key MOP dots map the fretboard, and the vintage Recording King headstock design delivers classic 3-on-a-side vintage mojo.
Each Series 11 guitar comes from Recording King's workshop with great-sounding Fishman Sonitone electronics for guitars that are roadworthy as well as sonically and stylistically impressive.

Best thing I've bought in a long time

I bought this guitar a few months ago as a reward to myself for making pretty good progress in learning to play. I am teaching myself some old time music, in the bluegrass style and the requisite fiddle tunes that go along with old style bluegrass. I started with a Yamaha FG-830, a good quality beginners guitar and I wanted to upgrade to an all solid wood guitar. O.K., it was G.A.S. but I definitely earned that upgrade. I live on a Social Security check income, so the $1,000+ guitars were out of the question, even the used ones. I read a lot of reviews and decided to take a "caveat emptor" chance on this one. Wow! That's about all that I can say about this guitar. As we say here down SouthI done good! I like everything about it. I love the satin finish and the tobacco brown burst colour, but most of all I love the sound. It is different from my Yamaha. It is more mellow and rounder and more balanced in volume from bass to treble than my rosewood laminate Yamaha. It stays in tune very well. Only temperature changes require retuning. It is considerably lighter in weight than my Yamaha. I'm not 100 percent sure what that signifies, but it is noticeable. The intonation is spot on all the way down the fretboard, even if I rarely venture past the 8th or 9th fret. The only change that I made to it was that I changed out the bridge pins for some made of Tusq, and it made no difference at least to my ears. All in all, I'm happy as a clam with this purchase.
