Open Box Quilter Labs SUPERBLOCK US 25W Guitar Amp Head Level 1 Black

Super clean sound. Stupid good.

I own a near mint 1966 Deluxe Reverb (bought in 1982) but I don't like to take it out and about too much, so I bought a SuperBlock US, and let me tell you, I was blown away by the great sound of this small amp. It's a one channel amp but if you dial it in to a little breakup and throw a Tube Screamer in front of it, you go from beautiful cleans with GREAT reverb to over the top distortion. Maxing out the gain knob give a LOT of distortion but it doesn't clean up that well, so using a pedal (just like I use on my real Deluxe) is a great solution. You want Marshall like tones...use the Tweed setting. I've owned a lot of gear and this little, inexpensive amp covers a lot of ground with wonderful tones. And it is loud enough for a band but you may want to get the 50w version if you play really loud. Just get one!

I was looking for an alternative setup to my stereo guitar rig. Was running a Carr Sportsman and a Suhr Badger through stereo effects. I'm a bit of gear snob and pretty much stick to boutique amplifiers. Anything less than excellent tone is unacceptable. What's the point? When looking at our upcoming touring schedule, I realized there would be quite a few festival and support slots that would require a quick on/off the stage and the reality of setting up a stereo rig, one side of which is a head and cab, started me thinking on how to simplify the setup for certain shows. I researched for quite awhile and decided to take a chance on the Quilter Superblock US. Have tested it into 2 different cabs, straight into the PA with the cab simulator, and also using both at the same time, on its own and as part of my stereo amp rig. This is probably the hardest thing to really get across because tone and response is so subjective that one man's grail is another man's trash. All I can say is "WOW". Not only is the Quilter TINY compared to a whole road case with a head and 1x12 in it, but it sounds incredibly good. Granted, one half of my stereo rig is a 2K tube amp but the Quilter is taking over side two and I still can't believe it. Insanely usable tones with a TON of control. The convenience plus the actual sound is life-changing. I get a ton of compliments from other players on my guitar tone. Its something I've worked a long time on nailing. The Quilter came in and obliterated my long-held notions of using only "select" gear to express myself. The technology is here, friends. This isn't the solid state guitar amp of the 80s 90s. Its truly remarkable.

I recently acquired this amp to use direct out to my church's sound system. This thing is phenomenal. The sound quality is excellent, especially for a solid state amp. I haven't tried it with a cab yet, but I would expect it would sound just as good.
