I buy a seat for comfort, not flash. I tried all the stools out there and the best value for comfort and price is the Proline 24" Faux Leather Guitar stool. I've had the Proline stool for over a year and use it everyday for a few hours. Liked it so much, I bought more to use in the Luthier shop and everyone thinks they are great. Had a little problem with wobble, but with use the legs leveled out. I will definitely buy these again, especially when GC runs a sale on them. Tried many other brands like Fender, Gibson, Roadrunner and they were like sitting on Rocks. They may look nice, but I wanted something I could use, not look at.

I compared with ALL the other guitar stools at GC, and this stool was by far the most comfortable even though it was cheaper than the others. Also it was a good height for me. But after I got home and assembled a brand new (from the box)stool, the stool had a slight rock ... the legs were not all the same height. I did make the stool stop rocking by shimming the soft plastic feet. I am too busy to run back to GC and exchange for another ... and possibly another ... so the bottom line ... nice design, but poor quality control by the manufacturer.

Good Stool, a few quirks.

Comments about Proline 24 in. Faux Leather Guitar Stool:

Guitar stool frame is made from pretty robust tubing, that appears to be chromed. Like others have written, it does rock a little on hard surfaces, but this is not noticeable when sitting on it, even on hard floors. Seat cushion is approx. 3" thick, comfortable, and covered in a textured faux leather which I prefer to a smooth, stickier cover, but it could be attached a little tighter. Swivel rotates very solidly. I am 5'10" and it fits me well. The height of the foot ring is what sets this apart from a usual 24" stool. It is about 10.5" off the ground and raises my leg/legs so they are parallel with the floor and the guitar sits very well. Overall it is comfortable, and you can easily shift your legs around when you feel the need.

UNEVEN LEG LENGHTS

By ALBERT MARTINEZ

from Houston

Comments about Proline 24 in. Faux Leather Guitar Stool:

After assembly of this product I can't help to be dissatisfied. Two of the legs are approximately a 1/4 inches too long and the stool rocks. The stool is of poor quality control. This was my second time I had bought a bad stool from here.

Comments about Proline 24 in. Faux Leather Guitar Stool:

This is a very nice stool for playing guitar. It looks good, is well padded, doesn't creak, and isn't expensive. Before I purchased it, I noticed that some reviews said that it wobbled especially on hard floors. However, I was able to adjust out any wobble by slightly tightening the taller legs and slightly loosening the shorter legs. Now it is sturdy as can be.

Comments about Proline 24 in. Faux Leather Guitar Stool:

This stool is very comfortable, well padded, and is a good height for me (I am 5'8"). It is tall enough to sit comfortably but low enough to still reach pedals easily. The pad is not too stiff and not too soft.

The only con is that the swivel action is a hit on the stiff side. It's a minor con, and certainly no reason not to buy this product. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

Comments about Proline 24 in. Faux Leather Guitar Stool:

This stool is by far the most comfortable for the hard earned cabbage. Don't buy for the name on top , it ain't worth it. They (Fender/Gibson)should be ashamed to attach there name to such inferior products. You can ride this saddle long into the night. But by all means buy the the name brands if you enjoy riding on concrete all night! I believe these are the same stools they have setup in the stores to jam on prospective guitar purchases. Smart move to make you comfortable want to $$$$$.

good and the bad, part II

          By RUSS WAGNER

          from Prescott, AZ

Comments about Proline 24 in. Faux Leather Guitar Stool:

I would agree totally with the first reviewer. My experience was identical. When I tried out stool at the store, this was clearly the one..and it was 30% off on a sale. it is clearly the most comfortable to sit on and the height is good for me. when I got one out of the box, and put it together, I had the same problem with rocking because the legs or brace was not the same size. it rocked significantly and I played with reassembling it in different ways for 2 hours. very frustrating. Finally I decided that I would also shim the short let at the bottom. I glued a little piece of soft plastic over the bottom plastic cover of the leg. You should not have to do this with a brand new product. I agree.. poor quality control where it was made!!. I am very busy as well and a 2+ hour round trip back to the GC store was not in my plans. I took care if it myself but this was a bit frustrating. I would buy it again as it is really comfortable and a good all and all stool, but I would get one directly from the store that was already put together and that did NOT rock

Comments about Proline 24 in. Faux Leather Guitar Stool:

The PROLINE 24 in. Faux Leather guitar stool is a very good item. First, it is very comfortable to sit on. It is just the right height. I bought 2 (two) stools for my home recording studio and they are perfect. Secondly, this stool looks nice with the black seat and chrome plated legs. It is easy to assemble. Be sure to purchase 4 (four) black rubber leg tips for this stool; it makes it less likely to slip on a hard surface. (You can find these at a local hardware store. Get the 7/8 in. size.) This is the best guitar stool on the market at this time. Get yours today. You will like it.

Purchased after looking at comments fm others about the stool stool seeming a bit wobbly when assembled. I just assembled it as loosely as possible at first and tightened bolts up a bit at a time. The stool is great.

Good: It rocks! Bad: It rocks!

            By Joe

            from Irving, TX

Comments about Proline 24 in. Faux Leather Guitar Stool:

Good: The stool is really easy to put together (provided you haven't had a few too many beers). The seat has very thick padding so it is really comfortable, and it swivels just fine; bottom line, this stool rocks! Bad: As other reviewers said, the legs are slightly uneven, so it rocks when you move. It's not a super-excessive rocking, but it might be enough to annoy some players. Overall, a really nice and comfortable stool at a very good price, with just a minor flaw. I'm thinking about buying another one or two for my friends to use when we gig together in my place.

Comments about Proline 24 in. Faux Leather Guitar Stool:

To be honest, I would much rather have a stool with the logo of a major guitar manufacturer on top. However, no one is going to see the label when I sitting on it. Many reviews mentioned that the logo stools were uncomfortable. The swivel on this one is a little tight, which may loosen in time. It is very comfortable. Very happy with the purchase.

Comments about Proline 24 in. Faux Leather Guitar Stool:

Nice stool. An easy way to fix the rocking is to go buy heavier rubber "crutch tip" leg protects like people have suggested anyway to help with slip. But before putting them on, put a coin or two (whatever coin is closest to 7/8") in the cup on the shortest leg until the height matches the other legs. Leave the exisiting plastic tip on, the crutch tip will go over it. Works like a charm.
