Amazing gig tool, super versatile

Pros - Portability, battery life (get one), gigging volume, built-in effects, usable inputs and mixer, charging port, ease of use, looks classy as heck Cons - Bass heavy at higher volumes, using the app on a small phone screen, missing expected effects/amps Honestly, I wish I'd gotten this before trying to piece together a PA system for my jazz duo. Life is so much simpler just putting this box down and plugging in two cables. The small shortcomings are easy to overlook for this convenience and versatility.
No PC app/ interface makes this 1 star!

It's a neat idea, and the tones are good, but you need to hook your phone up (Bluetooth AND Location Services?!?! - no thanks), and you can't edit patches without the phone app. You also can't just plug any instrument into any channel -- not all channels have effects/ models... The reality of getting it ready to use live is EXTREMELY frustrating and nigh-impossible without an interface that is larger than your phone screen... This is a turd in a gold chassis.
I would definitely buy again!

I use this as a practice amp, a small outdoor performance amp/PA and a portable bluetooth stereo speaker. Has extra inputs for a friend to plug into. Not terribly heavy either for 150watts.

I preordered my first Spark live . Great practice amp/PA . 150 watts , portable powerhouse. I like to be able to play with an acoustic guitar and sing with effects on vocals. Also play electric along with jamming tracks .Battery powered , It goes anywhere. Nice blue tooth speaker for a party. Loved it so much I decided to buy a second one to leave at my second home.

Is the software and compatibility features the same as the spark 1 or spark 2?
The Positive Grid Spark LIVE is a step up from the Spark 40 (commonly referred to as Spark 1) and the Spark GO/Spark MINI, and while it shares some software and compatibility features with them, there are notable differences: Shared Features Across Spark LIVE and Spark 40/2: Spark App Compatibility: All use the Spark App (iOS/Android), so you still get smart jam, Auto Chords, tone editing, and cloud tone downloads across all models. Cloud-Based Tone Sharing: Access to ToneCloud with thousands of user-created tones. Bluetooth Audio Streaming: You can play backing tracks/music via Bluetooth on all models. USB Audio Interface: All models work as USB interfaces for recording. Differences and Upgrades in Spark LIVE: Feature Spark 40 / Spark 2 Spark LIVE Channels 1 guitar/bass input Up to 4 channels (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboard) XLR Mic Input No Yes Phantom Power No Yes Stereo Line Inputs No Yes (for keyboard/other instruments) Battery Power No Yes (optional battery pack) Gig-level Volume Practice-level Performance-ready (150W) Live App Integration Basic Enhanced for live control and mixing Onboard Mixer Minimal 4-channel digital mixer Footswitch Compatibility Limited (via MIDI or third-party) Yes, with Spark Control X. As of now, Spark 2 is more of a firmware and app update than a hardware revision. It's expected to improve the user interface, introduce smart features, and enhance tone capabilities — but it's still running on the same hardware as the Spark 40, unless a new device is released and branded “Spark 2” as hardware.submitteda year ago

How do you access the looper?
To access the looper on a Positive Grid Spark LIVE 4, you need to use the dedicated "Looper" function within the Spark app or control pedal (like the Spark Control X), where you can typically enter looper mode by holding down a designated foot switch, allowing you to record, overdub, and playback loops directly through the amp; you cannot access a built-in looper directly on the amp itself, so you'll need to use the app or a compatible control pedal to operate the looper feature.submitteda year ago
