Description
The Positive Grid Spark 40W guitar combo amplifier is a smart amp that will ignite your musical creativity. The Spark 40 delivers authentic tube-amp tones through its custom-designed 4" speakers, powered by Positive Grid's renowned BIAS amp modeling platform, which provides access to over 10,000 hyperrealistic presets. But it's so much more than just great tone—it's an all-in-one solution for practice, performance and recording.
Jam Along With Virtual Band Mates
The included Spark app uses patented Smart Jam technology to generate authentic bass and drum parts that follow your lead, so you can jam anytime without needing a full band. Just play a chord progression or riff, and Spark will provide the rhythm section. You can even adjust the style and complexity to your liking.
Learn Your Favorite Songs
Import songs from streaming services like Spotify or YouTube into the Spark app, and it will automatically display the chords in real time. You can slow down the tempo, loop sections and master riffs at your own pace. With the app's massive chord library, you'll be playing along to your favorite tracks in no time.
Premium Tone and Effects
Positive Grid's acclaimed BIAS amp models provide an array of vintage and modern amps, cabs and effects to craft your perfect tone. Shape your sound even further with the Spark's built-in tone stack, mod, delay and reverb controls. There are over 10,000 factory presets, and you can also build and share your own custom tones with the ToneCloud online community.

Revolutionary
This is the practice amp reinvented. The integration with a mobile device gives you access to modeling and effects which are easily modified. A cloud connection gives you access to thousands of patches. Just type in your favorite guitarist and find their sound. Packs a punch for a 40 watt amp. It's a smart device, will accompany you with drums and bass based on a few measures of playing. Allows you to play with your library of mobile device music. It's a great creative tool for developing ideas. It has plenty of hardware controls, including delay and reverb. This is the next generation of practice amps and is fabulously versatile. And it sounds pretty darn good too. Recommended to me by a professional musician who bought this amp for each member of his band.

Unreliable amp, horrible customer service!
I have had this amp for just over a year. When it works, it is a fun amp. The ability to use the app and select a number of model settings is great. After I had the amp for 5 months, it started to pop when turning on and off. Positive Grid send me a reconditioned amp as a replacement (it took about 3-4 weeks to get it). Now about 5 months later the speakers are bad, either a grounding problem or speakers going out. Waiting to see if they will replace or repair it (the original warranty ended a couple weeks ago). Fun amp when it is working, but it is not very reliable. Although I like the amp, I won't buy another from them. Too unreliable. Even worst, customer service is horrible. Positive grid had no telephone number. They only communicate through email during odd hours, usually between 11pm and 3am EST.

The BEST amp for home use and more

This amp sounds great out of the box but it really shines when connected to the app, where you have access to thousands of pedals, presets, effects, etc. Put in a band you like or a song or even a general term and you have so many sounds to play with. Would recommend to anyone!
Great sound and versatility

Great sound from a small, portable package. It won't replace your fave guitar, bass, or acoustic amp for performances, but it is so useful when I'm moving around the property. No more lugging big heavy amps downstairs for a parlor performance - this little guy will do. It's so versatile and the app is terrific. For a "bedroom amp", it has to be high on the list.

The features of this amp are endless. I love that you can do so much with the sound you produce while paying, and the quality is excellent. Bonus that it's compact, easily portable, and can be used as a speaker too. The spark amp was recommended to me and I'm so glad I got it; I continue recommending it to everyone I know!

Can you use the headphone jack to plug into a larger amp?
Yes. Now keep in mind that the headphone out has power (minimal but enough to power cans) while a line out doesn't. So watch your gain on the second amp.submitted3 years ago

Is this amp good for classical guitars?
It will work. I think you would be better off with an amp specifically voiced for an acoustic instrument. Please see "Acoustic A20 20W Acoustic Guitar Amplifier Brown/Tan"
