Small modifications needed but well worth the small effort

You may have seen other reviews on this item that slam the product because the violin bass does not fit into the case. Although this is true, it only takes about fifteen minutes to make a few adjustments and the bass will fit perfectly. I have to admit, I was skeptical about purchasing this case after I read this complaint on several different web sites. But for such a low price, I thought I would give it a try. I own a Hofner Violin Bass, and sure enough, when my case arrived it would not close when the bass was in the case. All I had to do was remove the 4 screws from the center piece that holds the bottom section of the neck of the bass (where it attaches to the body), and cut about an inch or so off the bottom. This center piece was too high preventing the lid from shutting. I made sure I left extra fabric to guarantee that I covered the bottom cut and bam - the bass now fits. I have to admit that you would think a case that is advertised to fit the violin bass would in fact fit, but as I mentioned earlier, for the price it was a small inconvenience. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because it needed some personal touches in order for it to fit; otherwise, the case is great.
