Great Buy
This bench is very nice looking and well made. Height adjustment is just a simple turn of the knob. The tufted seat is elegant and comfortable. Storage space is minimal at about only an inch deep, but other than that, we are very happy with our purchase.

nice bench... but not enough storage room
The bench itself is great -- padded, comfortable and good looking. But if they went to the trouble of building it so it'd open for internal storage, couldn't they have given it more than one inch of depth to store music books, etc? It's such a thick seat but without any room for real storage, beyond maybe 100 sheets or 1 or 2 music books. Kind of ridiculous. Still, it's comfortable and works, hence the 3 stars.

Piano, guitar playing for fun. I have a lot of sheet music, only downfall is it looks like theres 3" of book space. Not exactly. But also not a deal breaker for purchase.

Very disappointed in this bench. It has a very small sitting area and no cushion at all. I'm 6 foot tall and 200 pounds. This bench is best suited for petite women or young children. Adults look elsewhere.

Comfortable bench, I really like it. Not a whole lot of storage, but definitely better than no storage. The controls are a bit tight making it slow to raise and lower, but since its not something that going to be done repeatedly, that doesn't bother me at all. Getting 5 stars because it is very comfortable, and sturdy. Very glad I bought this bench.
OK--a little pricey for what you get

The bench works as expected, although the adjustment mechanism was very, very stiff at first. It's loosened some with a bit of grease. As others have noted, the padding is pretty thin so it's just adequate. The lacquered base had a permanent scuff on it right out of the box, but I can live with it. Overall, I had hoped for better quality for the price, but I'll probably keep it rather than look for another one.

The bench is exactly as described. Other reviewers complain about limited storage, but who stores music in a bench, for crying out loud? I bought the bench because it was affordable, and I found it very easy to assemble (even without printed instructions). However, it does squeak when you move around.
good quality bench ... with caveat.

Bench is high quality, well built. I'm very happy with it. Since I've started using, my sitting fatigue during practicing has been greatly reduced. Beware of two issues though if your big or tall. I'm both. (6'4'/ 295lbs) 1) If you're big, the cushioning material, may not be adequate. It's not as thick as a picture would suggest. Almost right away I started using additional padding. This draw back is out weighed by the fact that the construction is very solid. No wiggling or squeaking. It's also a nice change from regular 'gigging' benches that can tip over easily. So I decided almost right away to keep this item. 2) If you're tall, if your keyboard is at a fixed height, and you like to sit with your elbows at or below key level you may find the low end of the height adjustment is not low enough, so try to sort that out ahead of time. Guitar Ctr can give you the height stats. The assembly of the legs is very straight forward. No instructions are included, but if you know what year was the War of 1812, you shouldn't be stumped. There is however, an issue with the included utility wrench. It will work in a pinch, to get you going initially, but it's definitely not adequate to tighten the bolts properly. With a little use they started to loosen. So I pulled out that little wrench and tried to really crank the nuts. Don't do that. If you try, you run an excellent chance of having it slip off, scraping your knuckles, like I did. Get a real wrench, I think I used a 9/16. I concur with the reviews that cite the surprisingly small storage compartment under the seat, but it was not an issue for me to begin with.
