I use this pedal in all my live performances and recommend it if your looking for that Mesa tone using a cheaper amp.

It is really a terrific pedal. Just what I needed as many of the clubs my band plays has backline that is unpredictable so it's nice to have some thing Mesa on the front end to add more gristle. It is way better and that situation than Ibanez tube screamer because of the added bottom, and that this panel offers very happy with my purchase!
Excelent sound!

For those seeking that Mesa/Recto sound, this absolutely gets you there, with an array of sounds and tones that have that upscale, clear-sounding high-gain without massive hiss or shrill. Ignore the snobs and haters; this pedal ROCKS. Worth every penny, it's the sound you want, and will likely last decades. It's made BY MESA. Who knows the Recto better!?!?
Not a good match for a Mesa amp - just mud

I bought this pedal as a crunch to have a clean, crunch (this pedal) and use my amp's lead channel (Mesa Mark V 35 combo) - switching between the clean and crunch in channel one during gigs is a pain - so I decided to give this pedal a try. It did not pair well. It is very muddy. Some people might have other results but even pushing the presence on the channel and treble at 2pm, couldn't get good definition from it. I will just flip the switch in between songs I guess.. oh well. Good problems.
