A real upgrade to the 102p

I have to admit, I was skeptical when I picked this guy up. The new rubberized corners feel excellent and they now only use their rat fur on the middle of the cabs. It's a big improvement if you are used to the last generation of products in weight, looks, and most importantly, tone. Markbass has always been "light" but this cab takes it to the next level. The new placement of the side handles makes load in a breeze. I am pretty deep into the Markbass ecosystem so have their 15's, 2/10's as well as a 4/10hr. Reliability of their heads is up to question, however I have drove the 102p combo as well as their add on "traveler" 102p for over 10 years with zero problems. Recently switched my heads to darkglass and found that the old piezo tweeters do not sound great with any type of distortion. The new tweeter in this cabinet is classified as a "super tweeter" not sure what they mean by that but this tweeter is a great improvement. in this version and I found that with a -6db cut on the "super tweeter" everything sounds sweet yet is no longer harsh. Low end is dramatically improved over the 102p, much fuller and projects a lot better. I give some of this to the cabinet being around 6 inches wider over the 102p. Found my new grab and go for single cab lighter-medium sized gigs. Do yourself a favor if you are battling the slight price increase over last gen. This cabinet is significantly lighter and sounds much better then the OG 102p.

Sorry I had to take it back

I kept this for 2 before I returned it. It sounded great in the store and had the best slap tone of any Markbass I played. I returned it because it lacked the bottom needed for my 5 string at practice levels. The weight of this easily sold me on this. I wanted to love it but it couldn't fulfill my needs so it was returned.

Got this on sale to replace a heavier cabinet easily twice the weight. What I didn't count on was getting twice the sound! Great deep lows and I really like this improved super-tweeter. Liked it so much I sold my Schroeder and got a second cabinet for larger gigs:)

I picked up a 102 a few years ago to use as a practice amp in my studio. I love the sound and clarity from these speakers. When I started gigging again I picked up this to pair with it. Plugging this in the expansion slot on my head and it nearly doubled my sound. It sounds just as clear and has plenty of low end. You're able to turn the tweeter off if you don't need it but I have it set on the low setting. This cabinet doesn't look is ported in any pictures online but make no mistake it is ported on the rear, so be careful if you put this in a corner it will have more low end than you expect. This pair shook the entire stage I was playing on this past weekend. The drummer and I were locked in!!! The best part about this speaker is it weighs nearly nothing!! So much sound and I don't have to break my back carrying it is amazing. I can take everything in on one trip. Bass on my back, and a speaker in each arm. This has replaced my Peavey 4X10 setup as it has just as much sound with a quarter of the weight. I don't think it would work well by itself, but paired with more 10s or a 15 you have a nice lightweight setup for any venue.

#Sweepstakes Paired with with the markbass amp head, the sound is very loud and clean and makes my walls vibrate. It's super light.

This is comically light at 23lbs, which made me skeptical about the sound quality initially, but it won me over in seconds. It is extremely vibrant and really brings out the characteristics of my amp and the nuance of my playing. I'll absolutely consider buying the 15" version soon.
