Do NOT overlook your speaker connection
I bought this at my local Guitar Center in Ocala Florida to replace a failing 16 gauge speaker cable that connects my EVH 4X12 cabinet to my EVH Head. After researching speaker cables I decided to go to a slightly thicker gauge wire to a 14. When I got to the store I saw this Livewire Elite in a 12 gauge, 5 ft. I thought it might be a little overkill because of the thickness but I REALLY dug the heavy duty, oversized Neutrik connectors for some reason. When I got home and connected it, I knew I made the right decision! I was happy with the sound of the my older 16 gauge when it was working, but I'm absolutely THRILLED with this one. Compared to my older cable, the clarity is greatly improved. The low end of my tone has really warmed up in a good way and the punch is incredible. It removed any hint of muddiness from my tone. Foolishly, I always viewed my speaker connection as an afterthought. No more! It is an essential part of your tone. It sounds incredible and I have to admit, the oversized Neutrik connectors just look cool and indestructible. Never underestimate the importance of your speaker connection.

Not a good connection
The wire was very heavy duty so I thought it would be good. The actual connectors were slightly undersized and the heavy weight of the cable pulled on the connector. It caused a lot of static and complete loss of signal. I had to return it.

I have not compared speaker cables in the way that I have compared instrument cables, but this cable works well. At this point I am mainly buying Live Wire cables because they are good quality cables and the lifetime guarantee is great to have. #sweepstakes

I used these cables to connect my amp to my speaker cabinets. The connectors feel sturdy and are well built. You can feel the quality when you use them.

I'm wanting to run an extension cabinet with a Peavey valve king 112. In other words, I want to run them together without the speaker in the amp disconnecting when I plug it in the back. Will this cable keep it from doing that?
The cable has nothing to do with that. If your amp has an extension speaker output, it won't disable the internal speaker.submitted2 years ago

The description states Neutrik connectors, but the photo shows standard 1/4 inch male plug. Can anyone advise?
I’m very sorry, but no, they are not standard plugs. They are Neutrik.
