AWESOME tiny amp
This little Laney battery powered amp sounds GREAT for what it is - 9 watts of bass thru two, three inch speakers in a tiny cabinet that weighs under 4 lbs. Everyone who has ever bought an acoustic bass wishes they didnt need amplification but quickly learn its a necessary hassle when accompanying anyone else esp a 6 string. Well this little guy has a warm wonderful tone and pushes enough extra sound to make it happen and then some. Sounds GREAT! An excellent low volume practice amp. Surprising tone variation options and well made too. Tolex exterior and a real cloth grill not cheap hard plastic shell. I did my research on this and happily recommend this amp over ANY comparable product.

Two (2) bad
The first one had virtually no sound. All I got was buzzing that sounded like a blown speaker. I started with the volume low on the amp and my bass. Increasing the volume only increased the buzz and no appreciable volume. I ordered a second one. This one gave me volume, but an overriding buzz, like an old Fuzz Tone. I tried everything to get a clean sound without success. I think the problem might be in the electronics and not the speakers. I got a lot of static out of the volume control. I'm guessing GC got a bad batch. I've ordered one from a different vendor in hopes of getting on that works. It really looks great and is just what I want to set on the end table next to the couch so I can grab my bass when something pops into my alleged mind. I'd give it a 5 if I just got a little clean volume out of it. I'll update if the new one works.

This amp is good for the price. It is small and very portable. The sound is not great, so it wouldn't be great for a performance, but it's great for practice.
I would not buy this product again.

I am learning to play bass and my teacher said this amp was not big enough to hear ringing strings.

I'm wondering if this little amp with batteries has enough volume to be heard in a small setting among a couple acoustic guitars?
Unfortunately, no. It won't do much beyond a small room. I will have a product specialist contact you with options.submitted2 years ago

Does it remember the settings from when the phone was plugged in, or do you have to have your phone plugged in the entire time you are playing, in order to make use of the Tonebridge tones?
You would need it connected.submitted3 years ago

What type of batteries does it take and how long will they last when the amp is used at moderate level? Specs reference a power adaptor, but doesn't say how much that costs? Thanks
It takes 6 AA batteries. And at a moderate level it lasts roughly 6 hours.submitted6 years ago
