Great Bass

I got this bass recently and I love it. I got it in the white and it looks beautiful. The controls are easily laid out and provide a good punchy tone ora nice soft tone if desired. It is a little heavy and the neck is on the wider side, but I'm still adjusting because previously I was using a 3/4 size bass. I also had to adjust the neck and saddle to eliminate fret buzz. Other than that I love it!

Cool looks, but not the best bass

Great craftsmanship, solid, it's great for the price, but when I recorded with it, direct with studio projects vtb1 (normally amazing for bass sound) it sounded totally blah compared to even a squire jazz bass. I couldn't make it sound good at all no matter what I did, especially the bridge pickup. I've recorded multiple other off-brand basses with this setup with great results, so these pickups must be pretty bad. Gonna put in a Dimarzio J in the bridge, hopefully it'll make a world of difference. Still a deal of course, I don't know how anyone could make a decent bass for this price, so another 60 bucks to make it actually sound great is worth it. Funny, it doesn't even have the best feel, but I like this bass, it looks really cool and makes me want to play it. If I can make it sound good it'll be a favorite.

    I started playing bass since the late 1980's and have owned many electrics (and uprights) over the years. switched to guitar but wanted to get into seriously playing bass again. Pulled this off of a rack at a Guitar Center and liked it immediately. Solidly built and played amazingly with just minor tweaking at home. Pickups are a little "flat"- which I expected in a bass at this price range- but the playability and feel of the instrument was too good to pass up- so good in fact that I ended up buying another as a backup. Fret job on both basses was absolutely perfect. Neck is silky smooth and I found the tuning keys and bridge to be just fine. Holds its tuning even with heavy finger style plucking, chording and popping. Considering this bas is under $300, it is an absolute steal. Thanks Ibanez!

    First off, looks great. I got the white and color and love it. The tone I'm getting out of a small amp is insane. Only slight problems is that the pickups were a little high so I had to lower those, and the knobs got a little wiggly over time. This bass works great for beginners or anyone looking to buy a PJ.

    Greetings, I'm curious since the description says it's passive but has active EQ and requires a battery. What happens to the playability if the battery is dead or missing? Do you just lose the ability to adjust EQ or do you lose the entire signal. In other words can you still play it through the amp.

    All basses vary depending on the density of the wood. Even the same model can vary up to 1.5 lbs Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Bass Guitars are generally between 8.00 and 10.00 lbs. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be approximately 8.5 lbs
