Open Box Gem Sound GMW-2 Dual-Channel Wireless Mic System Level 1 CD

Description
The Gem Sound GMW-2 dual-channel wireless microphone system provides high-fidelity audio and expansive coverage for vocalists and presenters. Featuring VHF high-band operation and a super heterodyne receiver, this system offers pristine sound quality and a 100' range to handle even the largest performance venues. The GMW-2 gives you quality wireless functionality at an affordable price.
Dual-Channel Design for Flawless Simultaneous Operation
With the ability to operate two microphones at once, the GMW-2 dual-channel system is ideal for duets, interviews and group presentations. Each high-sensitivity microphone operates on the VHF 235–260MHz band and runs for up to eight hours on two AA batteries (sold separately). Select from four available frequencies (AB, CD, EF or GH) to avoid interference and ensure the clearest signal.
Super Heterodyne Receiver Provides Optimal Audio Clarity
The GMW-2's super heterodyne receiver uses a high-frequency intermediate frequency to improve selectivity and reduce noise. The result is a pristine audio signal free of distortion or dropouts. For the best performance, place the ultra-compact receiver within 50' of the microphones under normal conditions. An 1/4" output jack lets you connect directly to your mixer, amplifier or recording equipment.
Rugged and Reliable for Demanding Applications
Despite its budget-friendly price, the GMW-2 is built to handle the rigors of live performance and presentations. Its durable metal chassis provides protection from impact damage, while an LED indicator confirms the selected frequency to avoid confusion. Rechargeable or disposable batteries provide a cost-effective power solution for the long-lasting microphones.
Intuitive Controls for Effortless Operation
With dedicated frequency selection switches and individual volume/tone knobs for each channel, the GMW-2 receiver offers intuitive controls for easy operation. Make quick adjustments to balance multiple vocalists or tailor the sound to your venue's acoustics. An 1/8" headphone jack lets you monitor the audio in real time. Purchase your Gem Sound GMW-2 two-channel wireless mic system from Guitar Center today.

Pretty Good for What You Pay For
Sales rep advised me to buy a warranty, since this product has tons of returns. $20 is worth it for pace of mind. Can't complain about the performance. Sound is clear with a bit of sibilance and a bit of p-popping, but Easy to manage by tilting the mic. Overall. I was pleasantly surprised. Understanding that i bought the cheapest product of its type, I don't expect a ton of durability. If it lasts a couple of years, the purchase will be well worth it. If not, then I return it and upgrade for a total loss of $20.

It's manageable and good for a low price back up
I bought this mic since when I was in a pinch cause I left my mic system home and then the client decided they needed not one but two mics. I didn't want to spend $500 so this was the next best thing. I was expecting drop outs and feedback (I was praying the whole time) but to my surprise neither happened. The only negative was the mic sounded a bit tinny (unfortunately I was playing through a ddj sr) so I could t add any EQ but it was still manageable If you can get a higher quality mic definitely do so but if you're on a budget and need something quick or a back up this will suffice

Microphones are a piece of crap!!!! One would cut out as soon as you get 5 feet way from the transmitter. The other one was not much better!!!!
Okay for the price depending on its use

I bought this in an emergency for a wedding ceremony who lost PA equipment. It was very easy to set up and worked right out of the box. The microphones are a bit big but wasn't a big deal for my use. I did not have any reception issues and still got signal 100 feet away, though clear line of site. The quality is quite tinny. I would not use them for music. They're fine for presentations, especially if you have an EQ to balance it out a bit. #sweepstakes

One of the mics did not work right outside the box. Not worth the frustration.

I purchased this unit as a low cost microphone primarily for karaoke and for speaking events when the user is typically no more than 30 feet away. They work really well and (most importantly) I don't have to bring my higher end mics to events where I'm concerned about abuse.
Kinda cool

Does the microphone work without the receiver?
No, a wireless system requires a receiver to send the signal to the mixer.
