Compared to the old 150, is is a lighter/cheaper plastic material and IT DOES NOT COME WITH MICROPHONES. Also, it does NOT HAVE RCA CONNECTIONS! only quarter inch and XLR and an mp3 jack. However, it IS the only product on the market that can combine into a single case with a handle, perfect for mobile gigs like cocktail parties or small events. Having the mixer, amplifier and speakers all in the same unit is excellent but it is not the best for sound quality. If you want basic amplification for small venues this is perfect.

1. it doesn't come with it's own microphones as the Passport 250 did. 2. it is cheaply made. the plastic back of it sometimes does not close properly. 3. I am a DJ and tried to connect my mixer via xlr cables directly into the channel 1 and 2 like I used to do with my old Passport 250. This does not work. It creates incredible distortion! If you are just a musician and need something cheap and convenient and portable, this is the best option I think, but still not as good as the older models.

Own the Fender Passport 500 and have used it for smaller venues for over a year now. Got it basically because we were tired of lugging heavy equiptment to gigs. It's very portable and does not take up a lot of room. Perfect for playing coffee houses / bars and does not blow out your ears or those of the patrons. Voices & electronics , i.e drum machines, sound great through it. Highly recommend it if you want to sound good and save your ears & back !

I realize that decibel ratings are affected by many factors, such as distance, air density, barometric pressure, et,; however, the reviewer that claims only 62 dBA sound production form the Pro 500 seems mistaken. Although these ratings vary somewhat, 70 dBA is generally the measrures sound levels for a vacuum cleaner or a hair dryer and 60 dBA a normal conversation. To think that a 500 watt PA system max's somewhere between these two ratings is dubious at best.

I have never been a fan of Fender products being a keyboardist. Their gear mostly centered around guitarist. My first encounter with the Passport was when a friend DJ a party wth the 250 the sound was remarkable. He played a practice CD I had and I was sold. I checked with our local vender and they told me about the 250 being replaced by the 300 Pro Series. I purchased the 300 unboxed it and took it to a rehearsal, the sound was great I ran a portable Hammond B3 through it and the sound was crystal clear with great bottom. I filled a room of aprox. 250 people at about two thirds in volume.I loved the sound but felt a few more bucks a lot more power I exchanged the 300 for the 500 Pro Series. I read all the mixed reviews and was skeptical in purchasing the 500. i am not disappointed. This thing replaces my old rig with a power amp and two 15's. Power and clean. Dont be fooled by the bad reviews the Passport isa keyboardist dream. The Passport plays mid-size venues and with the assistant of a bass sub large venues doing light Jazz. Seeing is believing,
