Another Gorgeous Limited Edition Fender by Guitar Center!
Love the limited edition Squier Mini-strat in Artic White with maple neck & fretboard, and love this Midnight Wine limited edition Fender Newporter Player bought for one of my grandkids. For a thinner acoustic the guitar has a nice acoustic brightness to it with the stock Fender strings that came with it, nice built in tuner, and the neck has a nice slim action as an electric, perfect combination for an entry level guitar capable of future busking or stage performances. Bought the Fender Tweed Dreadnought Gig Bag to compliment it beautifully but too bad Fender has discontinued it. Grandson & his parents are just awestruck of its beauty & play, will be a treasure for years.

returned it..
sdotd.....too stupid to pass up. plays ok, sounds ok. lots of volume from the piezo pickup and preamp. plugged in it sounds very piezo- ish. metallic twang. the 2 band eq is nice but it cannot overcome the under saddle element. unplugged it has some punch but not a lot of nuance to it. steel strings vibrating a plywood box. I'm 6 foot, but even so, the neck seems long with the guitars small body on my lap. playing open chords felt like a long reach. not a bad little guitar at all, just not my cup of tea.

This is my first acoustic guitar, and for my first one, it's been absolutely amazing. I've been using it for the past month and a half and from my experience, this is one of the best acoustic guitars for the price! Absolutely great for any guitarists from any experience levels
Very poor setup

I'm very disappointed by the poor setup on the fender Newporter Player Acoustic-Electric Guitar i recently purchased at Eugene, OR guitar center, and by the blaise attitude of the disinterested staff. The setup is poor, action is too high. Now I' ll have to take it to a trusted luthier and pay good $$ just to get the playability it should already have. Very disappointing.
